“Ok Hotel with great views”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

This hotel was ok, but the views from the restaurant and beach were amazing. The hotel rooms were very basic but clean and they had a porch or balcony depending on the floor. The bathroom was spacious and clean but the water started off running brown until you let it run a little while. The beds were a decent size but not very comfortable. The restaurant was right on the beach and had amazing views. The food that we had was good but not great.

We went there on August on a full board basis and we hate food ever since...
We arrived late afternoon and we were given a room far away from the dining room- taverna by the sea-and on the first floor- stairs-although I had informed, while making the reservation that a cancer patient will be with us.So it was very difficult for her to climb all the stairs up and down just to have a meal...
The room was big, and it was named as two-bedroom...but the second bedroom was so tiny with no air condition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- please see photos! So the door was always open and the five of us actually have stayed together!
The fridge was out of order, so we had nowhere to put our children's milk. The airconditioning system was working just half of the hours what we were told on the phone! All the other time we had just the fan function...and it was too hot!
After two days and with a lot of complains we were transferred to another room on the ground floor and we were a bit better that before. The fridge was ok and my mum was able, at least, to do something. Both rooms were very clean!
The pool area was.... ok, but the pool bar was closed.... and with no lifeguard...
The fun park, that they were proud of, was....closed and out of reach for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What to write about the food....
The breakfast was poor- I think that in hospitals is better-....The bread was given again and again 'till was over...that fresh!
The glasses, plates and cups were broken and filthy. There were no paper napkins, we were given toilet napkins- the one for the hands-cut in half, so everybody could have!!!!!!!!-please see photos.
The lunch was even poorer, with cheap quality of food and even once we were told that they only have pork. So, whether you like pork or not you have to eat just that because you have no options left..! Where did the buffet style lunch go?????
Dinners were a bit better because all the people staying at the hotel were, at least, on half board basis...
The tables were filthy and they were not changing table clothes while another family was going to have dinner.
Cooking was very very bad, the taste was almost the same in every food... I wouldn't be surpised if the cleaners of the hotel were cooking too! Long time has passed 'till we tasted chicken again at home....We all had a terrible taste in our mouth while thinking about chicken served in Iria hotel...
The beach area was ok...not much to remember...
The best time in Iria hotel was an evening swim we had in the pool. Everybody had a great time, but it was just for one time, because the next evening the stuff was rushed to put the cleaning chemicals in the water!
I wouldn't send anyone there.... The owners are trying to get rich by offering...nothing!
SO, AVOID!

The rooms were clean and spacious. The downside was the location - far away from anything. The beach was all rock so we had to purchase water shoes, but view was nice. Worst was the food and there wasn't anywhere near to get anything else to eat.

Filthy rooms, dirty pool, poor breakfast, cheap quality dinner, private beach full of cigarette butts and nothing but sandy like their website states, no satellite tv, only restaurant in use the one of the beach and that only for breakfast and dinner. Very dissapointed!

We just stayed here with our EF tour last week. I don't think it helped that it was pouring when we arrived so we couldn't exactly enjoy the beach views right away. It didn't seem like anyone else was at this hotel and we were placed all the way back in one of the last buildings. There were no elevators so you have to carry all of your luggage up the stairs. We tried to find the pool but the only one we found was empty! Thin walls, hard mattresses, old frayed towels and TV stations that came in fuzzy were the negatives. There was also no free wifi and it can only be used in the lobby if you buy it. This should be posted on their website so there's no surprise when you get there. The food was not good, and breakfast options were especially poor. At least 2 people got sick from dinner.

We had a good overall experience with Iria Mare. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel lies in fornt of a nice sandy beach and it also offers a small swimming pool. I noticed that they are building another swimming pool at the back of the property along with a sports center with 2 tennis courts a 5x5 soccer court and a basketball court. The hotel clients consisted mainly of Greek families with small kids and some French groups. The breakfast and dinner buffet were good. Room service was slow. There was no real satellite TV only Greek channels along with ZDF, TV5 Monde and Euronews. Also there were no hair dryers in the room. The hotel is quite isolated. It is about 30' minutes by car from Nafplio and Epidaurus and if you do not have a car you might get bored after a while.
