We stayed for 6 nights at this resort to participate in a conference at the venue. I was a little anxious after reading about this resort, built in the style of a Greek village, as I have had a bad experience with "themed" resorts in Turkey. However, this is very well done, and quite charming. We stayed in a village suite, overlooking the beach, and with a spacious bedroom and living area. Although the room was furnished simply, and had polished concrete floors, it was cool, light and comfortable and also had all mod cons - air conditioning, wall mounted TVs (we never turned them on) and a spacious bathroom, again decorated Greek village style. The hotel does have wifi internet access, but it is limited to the reception areas, and hotel bar. There was a cable outlet in the room but it did not seem to be functioning. There is a lovely village square, with a church, shops, taverna, and even a replica old communal laundry, which was very like the real thing we have seen in Italy.
Part of the resort is a refurbished multistorey hotel, and friends who stayed there said the rooms were very small for two people, but comfortable and with good views of the sea. We only ate lunch in the hotel, at the pool bar, and the simple snack food was fine. Otherwise we ate out at restaurants in nearby Pythagorio, which is about 10 minutes walk down the road, and very charming.
The conference facilities are housed in another "old style" complex near the village accomodation, but were of a very good standard. The lecture theatre was banked, had good AV facilities, and the seats were comfortable. There was a lovely courtyard for morning tea, and chatting.
The resort is right on the beach, which is a bit rocky for Australian tastes, but dotted with trees and sunbeds, so very pleasant. The water is clean and lovely to swim in, so we didn't use the pool, which looked fine if you like pools. You can also hire water craft, such as windsurfers and kayaks, from a private operator on the beach just in front of the hotel.
The hotel is five minutes from the airport, so although this is quite convenient, you do see spectacularly close views of aircraft from you window from time to time. The airport is not very busy, so this didn't really trouble us (but we do live under the flight path in Sydney, and are fairly immune to that sort of noise).
All in all we had a great week in this lovely spot.
