Just returned from 2 weeks at the San Lorenzo Village in Lassi. The apartments exceeded our expectations (read all the excellent reviews and was not disappointed). The apartments are situated in 4 blocks around a lovely pool area with plenty of sunbeds to go round. The San Lorenzo is up a short steep hill (liturally takes 3 minutes to walk up) with beautiful views across the sea. The amazing beach is through the pine forest at the bottom of the hill, 5 minutes walk away. Lovely wooden sunbeds with thick matresses and beautiful clear water, perfect for young children (ours are 4 and 7). The beach had a very well equipped cafe that sold everything from salads, ice creams and a fully stocked bar. The uniform for the waitresses was a thong bikini (which our daughters thought was thoroughly amusing!!!). Bus to Argostoli was only a 5 minute ride away and worth a wonder round. Lots of shops, restaurants etc. Did a trip round the island (don't do the Thomson one, use one of the local travel companies, half the price and the tour guide was fantastic. Dogarati Caves, Melissani Lake, Murtos beach, Assos and Fiskardo well worth a visit. An absolutely beautiful island.
Lassi has plenty of resturants, all greek with a handful of shops and a few supermarkets. We choose the San Lorenzo after reading the brill reviews. We met people who were on their 11th consecutive visit, they love it so much, and others who had been there 4 times. We would definately return and recommend it to others. Mixture of people staying there from couples to families (not a place for groups of lad or lasses though) it's a lovely family run complex with beautiful gardens. Children's pool was great for the little ones and there was also a playground. It was one of the best holidays we have had, we'll be back!!!
