“Everything you could ever want from a hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

My partner and I stayed at the Thalassa Hotel last week and I have to say it was the BEST holiday I have ever been on.

On arrival we were greeted by the hotel manager who arranged for someone to take us to our room, as we entered the room we realised that we had been upgraded as I had notified the hotel that it was my partners birthday during our stay.

The breakfast was incredible and we found ourselves having a 3 course breakfast most days because the variety and quality of food was so good.

Due to the whether being so bad on our first couple of days we hired a car and ventured out to see some of the caves in Kefalonia, I would highly recommend Melissani and Drogorati Caves, they are stunning!

For the remainder of the holiday we stayed by the pool, where we had everything we needed. There is a cafe, so you can get refreshment during the day. The pool was slightly cold but apart from that it was idyllic.

On the day of my partners birthday the staff filled our room with flowers and gave us a complementary bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch to our already perfect stay.

All in all, we had a lovely stay at the Thalassa Hotel, thank you for helping to make our holiday so special.

Hotel - nice fairly small, clean and very friendly staff. Close to beach and bus stop just at the end of drive which takes you into Kos town, this runs every 20 minutes or so, number 2 or 4 will get you back to the hotel. Food good to okay, on one night I heard quite a few people say the chicken was under cooked but we never experienced this. Drinks good, service good.

Hiring bikes at the hotel was straight forward you book at reception and a man with a mini bus picks you up and takes you to their shop and you choose a bike. Simple, we only wanted it for half a day and reception negotiated this for us. We cycled around the harbour and marina – fun and fairly safe.

Rooms - We requested a family room and were given 102 which were directly opposite the outside eating area of the main (only) restaurant we found on our first morning (7am) that tables were being laid and staff chatting so we asked to be moved to a quieter room. Reception soon sorted us and gave us 312 much better, quiet night’s sleep with separate bedroom which gave us more space.

Entertainment – BRILL lovely team, Tina, Justine and Thomas you are fab and made our stay more enjoyable, they had loads of time for the kids and did some good games in the day time. We don’t normally partaker but it looked fun and it was fun – thanks guys PS it is eie eie eie eie here you will remember me he eh.

Kos town – lovely to go and look around, clean, lots of bikes to dodge though it has a lovely marina too.

Yacht chartering – we chartered a sailing yacht for the day as we wanted to practice some sailing on the Greek seas as opposed to the Irish ones ready for a flotilla holiday in August. We found Tropical Sails to be good, Giorgos assisted us through the day, took us to a lovely bay for a dip then onto a small island to a local taverna for lunch very nice and very Greek 
Any questions just inbox me.

Room Tip: if you are a family ask for a family room but a quiet one too.

We really wanted to give this hotel the top mark. The welcome from Angela and the girls was excellent. They couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast is to die for. The hotels location is also brilliant. A short walk to Lassi and it's eateries, a stroll from the beach and Taverna. A short taxi ride to Argostoli. Do yourself a favour and hire a car, explore Assos and the wonderful boatie town of Fiscardo. What lets the hotel down a little is a lack of shade around the pool. The sunbeds are very uncomfortable, (an easy fix). Our shower was broken, so we had to shower with a hand held device. All little things, and easily fixed, but just enough to be irritating.

The Thalassa hotel is a hidden gem of a hotel in Lassi. We have stayed there several times now and it never fails to disappoint. Only a 3 minute taxi ride into Argostolli and a short stroll to 2 beaches it is an ideal hotel in which to chill out and enjoy. With superb views and beautiful decor this hotel has everything you want for a relaxing holiday. Angela and her team always look after you to make sure that your needs are met and I defy anyone to find a better breakfast on the island ! A perfect destination for those looking forward to experiencing Kefalonia for the first time.

Stayed there for a week. Magnificent seafront views from our balcony and really nice common areas. Our bedroom was probably a bit smaller than what we expected, but overall we enjoyed the stay. Oh, the breakfast there is really good for the greek standards!! We would go again..

We stayed at the Thalassa in September 2013 and we were delighted with our experience.
The reception and breakfast room are funky and boutiquey, the bedrooms are furnished well, have great aircon and a nice little hidey kitchen area (behind a door).
We were a little worried about previous comments stating "this hotel is not a 4 star" - however, we were really pleasantly surprised and it's certainly not a 3 star.
Like the other reviewers, Angela was very accommodating with us and her attitude makes the hotel in my opinion. We also sampled the wine in reception before we ventured out to dinner and it was lovely. The wifi in the public areas was fantastic too.
The atmosphere at the hotel is what makes it perfect as a holiday destination. Sitting on the veranda in the early evening as the sun set over the ocean, sipping wine was so calming. The views from our room and the public areas are beautiful. The pool is lovely and it's great having the little pool bar. Just writing this makes me long to go back.
Thanks for a lovely holiday and hope to come back soon.
