“Great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

It's a great hotel, nice friendly staff, especially ViVi on reception and Lorenzo in the bar. It's a busy hotel, great for couples, mainly a mixture of British, Dutch and Scandinavian guests. You can get BBC World and a Greek station with British TV programmes such as Jamie Oliver(!) subtitled in Greek on the TV. We stayed for 2 weeks in June during what seemed to be a heatwave, it was impossible to exist without air conditioning which we had to pay for, but we didn't have to pay for the fridge. The location is not too bad if you're young and fit but quite a trek in the heat if you're a bit older and carrying shopping or beach bags. The hotel functions well as a hotel for bed and breakfast but the self catering facilities are a bit cramped and limited. We took a taxi into Argostoli most nights, which cost 6 euros. Argostoli is full of life, with authentic Greek restaurants and bars and great for people-watching. Lassi is great for the beaches, you'll have at least 5 within walking distance and the sea is crystal clear. To sum up, a fabulous holiday, and I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Lassi Hotel for a good value holiday.

I visited lassi hotel on 10th july 2012 with my boyfriend and we are both 19.
I'll start by clarifying we did not have to pay for the use of the fridge. Many other reviews are stating that you did but when purchasing the air conditioning and safe we enquired but were great fully told it was free of charge. And so it was, we used the fridge all week and it worked well.
The hotel it's self is pretty modern as Greek hotels go and it is very clean and tidy. Our room had a small balcony which had a view out to the sea which was lovely. The bathroom was fairly small as other reviews have stated but it was adequate. The shower was lovely and powerful just a shame the shower tray wasn't very deep so you had to check that it was not over flowing. Other than this the room was basic but clean with a kitchen in the wardrobe.
The breakfasts were very good with a lot of choice with hot food, lots of fruit, and sweet items.
The resort was pretty quiet but with a lot of great resturants although we never managed to try every one. There was quite a few hills. The hill to the nearest beach can be pretty much avoided by taking a shortcut. The beach was lined with spacious sun beds, but be warned those on the front row suffer with the sea running under the sunbeds on extremely windy days. This never put us off and we just placed our bag on the bed with us. The local beach hut served lovely sandwiches and ice creams. They also served free watermelon to us when we were sunbathing on te beach which great for cooling down,
We walked into the capital one night which took just under 20minutes but was well worth a visit. We managed to see a loggerhead turtle there too. There was a bustley square with resturants which smelt lovely. The shops were much better than in lassi too. We caught a taxi back for €6. We would have walked in another night had we more time.
Overall we had a lovely holiday and would return if we got it at the right price, but would like to visit other places in the next few years.
If you are having any doubts from other reviews, don't, you'll have a lovely holiday with great weather.

We stayed there first week in July. Nice room, maid cleaned every day, breakfast good. No complaints at all. Lovely pool and good beach nearby. Both of these on hills, I have a bad leg but still managed to get to them. I expected to pay for the safe, fridge and air con so I wasn't surprised when asked to pay for them.
A good holiday and would definatley go to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Make sure you have mosquito spray as those little buggers get in when you're not looking. We spr...

We spent 7 nights at the Lassi hotel from 21st June and firstly I'll outline the positives.

Its in a good spot with two beaches within 250m in either direction and located down a steep slope right at the top end of the Lassi strip, about as close to Argostoli without actually being there. The hotel is clean with helpful with friendly staff nearly all of whom speak decent enough English.

Our room was large enough for two with a single and double bed which, given the stiffling night temperatures was a blessing. Both beds were is use every night. The On suite was disapointingly small. The tiolet almost touching the shower tray and we both stubbed our toes on the shower tray in the dark. There was a small balcony with lovely views over the bay to Lixouri which was delightfull.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of hot and cold foods and unlike some hotels was replenished very promptly.

On to the negatives. The first disapointment was having to cough up 40 euro's to have acces to the A/C remote for the week. It was essential especially at night so no real choice. 10 euro's for the optional safe key is acceptable, lots of places have a similiar charge. What really irritated was being asked for 15 euro's to have a fridge key which I've never come across before in many years of travelling abroad. I opted not to pay up simply on principle and thought it quite outrageous that the hotel should have such a policy.

Another disapointment was the fact that the hotel have no daytime snack bar to speak of. They'll do a toastie on a Breville but thats all. Problem being that if you wanted a day around the pool (and lots of people did) there was nothing decent for a light lunch. The nearest cafe was at the top of the 500m steep slope leading up to Lassi strip and became quite a trek with temperatures up around 38*. Many customers referred it to 'cardiac hill'.

Despite the negatives I would stay at the Lassi Hotel again simply because of its excellent location with close access to Lassi strip (despite cardiac hill) and nearness to Argostoli, a 6 euro taxi ride away.

Better than you're average 3 star hotel.

The hotel seems to have been recently redecorated and was modern, clean and welcoming. All staff were great, welcoming and happy to help. Good range of nice food for breakfast.

Excellent Location. You can relax with a drink overlooking well kept gardens and fantastic sea views over the bay to Lixouri and beautiful sunsets. Or you could walk to the nearby beach in 5 mins, or go a bit further to the larger beach which has sunbed, water activities and a fantastic beach bar - Costa Costa. Both have lovely soft sand and crystal clear water. There's a nice coastal walk to the capital Agostoli - takes about an hour and 20 mins - but worth it for fantastic views. Or take an quicker walk up the main road to Agostili which takes approx 20mins. In Agostoli you can have a stroll along the harbour and around the nice shops and restaurants. You you can also get a ferry from Agostoi to Lixouri - another main town.

If you don't want to go far you're spoilt for choice for resturants and bars in Lassi. In all the ones we tried the food was lovely. We're definitely going back. Would recommend going in May or June as it's so beautiful with all the flowers out. But we can't wait that long so we'll be trying to go back in September :)
