“2nd time and twice as nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

booked direct with Maria this year, was a little nervous but no need, panicked when she emailed me the day before we travelled to say the taxis were on strike but recommended a resort hopper and even said if that failed she would collect us herself, brilliant service once again, the superior apartment 312 was wonderful, spacious, very clean and quiet, even on bbq night where the wine flows freely. The maids never seem to stop, and are very friendly, although we prefer the beach (for the breeze only) stayed by the pool on a couple of occasions and very nice, no chavs or louts bombing etc, all nice family type people.
I would buy an apartment off Maria if she let me??? mmh I may email her - lol
Even the waiters in Marias Golden Beach remembered us from last year, and 3 familys from last year were there at the same time this year, if thats not a recommendation I dont know what is.
Just lovely once again - thank you Maria XX

Been back a week and missing the place already. Eddie, Nettie, Cookie and Maria run this place to make sure your stay is as happy as possible. We had room 106 above reception and yes there was a bit of noise but we had a balcony that went all the way around, pool in the morning, mountains to the side and sea view as well. prices around the area are not that bad, Marias golden beach was excellent, Mythos had excellent food and you can have a good laugh at the Red Lion and Robin Hood. Take the kids down to Nemos as well for crazy golf. A big hi to Andy and family and hope sheffield do well this year( also he holds the golf record for nemo) and a massive hi to Brendas Bacardi Babes, thanks for a wonderful time. Do the crazy Greek bingo at the BBQ and pasta night great times had. Only downside was lack of kitchen equipment in rooms. All in all a great holiday thanks Eddie and Nettie, hope to see you soon.

Room Tip: Make sure you go in superior rooms.

I have to agree with all the other excellent reviews of the rainbow apartments, we stayed here with family in July, we had four apartments which were all excellent, they were spotless, the maids did a great job, all the staff were really friendly and made you feel very welcome, especially all the bar staff, nothing was too much trouble. BBQ night is a must, free wine for hours, you may not see much of the next day!! Crazy greek bingo is hilarious. I would definitely recommend these apartments to everyone.

we were a party of nine and between us had x2 Superior studios and x2 one bedroomed apartments. The Rainbow apartments are a short walk from the Beach Road where all bars and resturants are found .There is a good choice for meals and all were very good and good prices.Maria's golden Beach Resturant was the most popular and the main waiter always came to great us with "bloody nora" which was funny
At the Rainbow the BBQ night at15 euros each is a must, free wine which Nettie made sure our wine bottles were never left emptyand the food was great.Thomas,Ediie and Nettie are very friendly aand also made time to chat.
|The rooms and pool were very clean .I would recommend this to both couples and families .
Thanks to all the staff at the Rainbow Apartments for ensuring that we had a great stay.

This was my best holiday ive ever been on. On arrival our booking was messed up and we had been put in a standard one bedroom instead of a superior studio, i was initially annoyed by this until i got in the room and saw the size of it and the view off my two balconies. Staff were lovely, they could not do enough to make sure the holiday was great from being on first name terms and knowing our drink order. The actual apartments were so clean the cleaners never seemed to stop and the place was always spotless, the pool area was fantastic, it was clean and not cluttered, there was always sun beds available. location is superb as well it was close enough to walk into the center and to the beech and restaurants/ bars but far enough away it wasn't noisy. the free pasta night was excellent and the BBQ was out of this world, the free wine goes down very well too.BBQ night was a great way to get to know the other guests in the hotel too. I will defiantly be going back to this hotel again in the near future!! Best holiday ever thank you rainbow apartments and all staff!!!

This was our first time in Crete but definately will not be our last! The Rainbow apartments were fab. We were in a superior studio suitable for 3. It was extremely clean modern and spacious. We had room 304 which was on one of the newest blocks, it was on the ground floor and on the corner so had a patio and a bit of a garden around it too. It had everything you need.
Kitchen : kettle microwave two ring hob fridge with freezer compartment, table and chairs ( could do with a toaster).
Sleeping area: Double bed, sofa/sofa bed, wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables, flat screen TV, telephone and loads of floor space!
Bathroom: toilet sink and shower with a proper partition.
The pool: is a good size and there are plenty of sunbeds and umberellas. We went to the pool at different times of the day and never had a problem getting a sunbed.
The pool bar does snacks and lunches and are very nice. There is a separate bar which is situated at the front of the apartments which is open on an evening.
They are situated on the main road about a 5min walk down to the beach road. We didn't hear any road noise at all and our studio faced towards the road. We were a bit concerned when we booked how far away from the beach it was going to be and were a bit concerned about the busy main road. We didn't need to be concerned at all. Like I said earlier it was only 5mins walk and you could either cross the road and walk down some steps or walk a few meters further and cross through the underpass.

Stalis is a lovely place to holiday loads of lovely restaurants, bars and espescially loads of lovely friendly, helpfull people. Had lovely meals at lots of restaurants/cafes....Roma, Marias golden beach, Panorama, Mike's gyros, Knossos, Cretan Family and many more. Irish House is a canny pub and a trip to Mohos up the mountain on a Wednesday for the Cretan night is a good night too we went to Lithos restaurant.

We stayed at rainbow apartments for 11 days and it was our first time in crete. The reviews that you may read about these apartments are spot on! our apartment was in the older block, but was very spacious and extremely clean.
Maria , and her staff are all really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are on first name terms with guests and they make the effort to get to know everyone.
The pool area is spotless and we had food and drink from the pool bar and found it to be very tasty and good value for money. There's a free pasta night on wednesdays which is great for getting everyone together and talking!!
We've only been back home 2 weeks but we're already looking forward to returning next year.
