“Very good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

I stayed at the hotel from 5th May to 8th May. The place is great - it is located near the beach (50m), the hotel have pool and bar and serve home-made food.

The rooms are beautiful - the one we stayed in have two balcony and equipped kitchen.

The owner is very friendly and helpful person!

Definitelly hotel worth staying,

Our 1st trip back to Filia Apartments in consecutive years and again we were not disappointed with the accommodation, service, facilities and friendliness of 'living in the box cheeky monkey' Billy, George, Michael, extended family and wonderful staff. So relaxing; the music in the pool bar had been turned down and was switched off going into the late hours. The rooms are cleaned and beds made for you every day and the snow white towels and linen changed twice a week. The sun beds are so comfortable, the pool and area is kept so clean and whenever you feel hungry, George or Michal are always around to cook you something delicious from the kitchen.

Recommended restaurants to visit: Jannis; when you get down to the strip, turn left Jannis on right opposite the little chapel in the square. Excellent menu good food.
Hellas; pass Jannis, keep going until the beach becomes adjacent to the road, turn left up a slight slope. Not an extensive menu but excellent food and service.

Clean, fresh comfortable apartments run by a friendly helpful family with great service and willingness to answer all your questions. The bar is excellent and Billy the mainstay barman is friendly and makes the place fun to hang around. The pool and pool-side is a nice place to relax and it's really close to the main street and beach. The town feels quite new so doesn't have that old-style character but nearby old town Malia is a short cheap local bus ride away. Food around town is affordable, fresh and good. Although come out of season and there are fewer choices open for business (but also fewer tourists obviously).

Room Tip: because music plays into the night (especially during peak season) then if you want a quieter night...

We had a week at the Filia in late September, we were look after so well by the three brothers, I would have no hesitation in returning. We had breakfast and lunch there several times during our stay, the prawn salad is amazingly good value, There were always plenty of sunbeds available around the pools although the best positioned ones were grabbed at dawn by an elderly group of ladies.

Stayed for a week this half term with two boys 10,12 and my wife. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, we felt that we were looked after by Michael, George and the superstar "Billy". Great family run hotel complex with good food and a warm atmosphere. The apartments were simple, but functional and the standard of cleanliness good in most parts.

For the price paid we had value for money. Would recommend going before half term week as most of the resort was closed and very little was open. Great for a quite break and a good base for exploring. 2 minute walk to the beach and resort centre.

Too many people are saying that Greece is bust. They still need your support. They will be happy to take your Pounds, your Euros or Dollars which go straight into their pockets. The "crisis" means that you will get even better value for money and the locals will get a living. The Greeks are hospitable people and Cretans are the best. Stalis has many good restaurants, cafes and bars on top of which you can get a good deal on car hire and coach trips. Our daughter who went to Santorini was very surprised when we told her the cost of things in Stalis which are about 60% of the cost on Santorini. Find the Filia web site and look at hte location. Billy, Michael, George and Bobby would be very pleased to accomodate you. Don't miss the Thursday BBQ by Giorgos.

Room Tip: Sleep on the North side facing the pool and enjoy Billy's music or if you prefer a quiet room as...
