Stayed for two weeks half board in the Anastasia Hotel in July 2006. Lovely hotel. Room was a very good size, air conditioner was easy to operate and the room was spotless. We also had a lovely view of the sea which was about 5/10 minute walk away. Hotel food was good and varied over the two week stay. The staff were very friendly. From the hotel to the main street in Stalis was about a 5 minute walk. Stalis has some lovely tavernas, restaurants in which we had lunch, and some nice shops. Stalis is about 15/20 minute walk away from Malia - but plenty of shops to keep you amused on the way. The hotel had an entertainment programme, crazy golf for the kids etc., and a poolside bar. It was about 5 minutes to the beach where you could hire loungers, brollies etc., There were also a couple of places at the beach where you could get lunch. The walk to Malia along the beach was about 15 mins and in July the Malia beach was full of 18-30s. The Stalis beach was quieter and plenty of room to spread out. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Best Hotel I've stayed in!”

I stayed at the Anastasia for 2 weeks with my boyfriend and we enjoyed it so much. The hotel staff go out of their way to help you and the rooms are very spacious and clean, and the air con and fridge are free. We didnt eat at the hotel every day as there are so many restaurants to go to in stalis, however the food we did have in the restaurant was very good. Again, the service at this hotel is excellent, johan in particular was very friendly and we had many laughs with him at the reception desk when we came in during the early hours.
The hotel location is ideal, as you don't hear any road noise from the rooms and you can easily walk into Stalis or Malia. I found it is better to stay in stalis rather than Malia as I dont think you would get much sleep after a night out, I would recommend having a meal in malia old town, it is so different to the main strip and the restaurants are great,
As for the Hotel Anastasia, we will hopefully go back again.

This is our second year at the Anastasia .Last year I brought just my two daughters(9 and 14).This year i took my Son also(19).It is still as lovely as it was the year before with no standards slipping. The rooms were kept immaculatly clean. We were given a lovely room overlooking the pool with two balconies as I requested with one of the owners,Mike. The waitress service was great, especially Costus and the little girl helping with the soup. The food was lovely really varied with plenty of it .But one small thing-it was a little repetative and needeed varying more often. Otherwise you really cant fault it. Nicky on reception is lovely also. The entertainment was abit basic. John is a great lad that does it all,he really works hard at it. I think it could do with abit more variety and alot more Greek/Cretian style. The Greek/Cretian dancers are on once a fortnight and are fantastic. Really professtional. They should be on more or something similar? I think I will leave it a few years before I go back mainly because I find the resort of Stalis/Malia too commercialised.-but I will return in the future as this is a faboulous hotel. My only regret is not taking the friends we met from OLDHAMS phone number on return at M/C airport.(9 October-MON3975) A really nice couple. If you are out there contact please.

“fantastic hotel”

We have just returned from a week stay at the Anastasia. There was seven of us altogether which included children and grand parents. I can honestly say that all of us thought the hotel definitely deserved a 4 star rating.
The owners were extremely concerned when my daughter was ill...they even cooked her her favourite food especially...where would you get that sort of service.
All the staff were very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble..no matter how busy they were at the time.
Location is also very good. Nicely set back from the main part of Stalis, but still only approx 10 minutes walk.
We will definitely be returning next year.

We were thrilled to discover that the excellent reviews of the Anastasia were realised. The hotel is everything and more - clean, well maintained, nicely furnished and overseen by friendly, helpful staff. There was a lovely informal atmosphere, the welcome was warm and you quickly begin to feel like 'one of the family'. A huge thank you to everyone at the Anastasia for making our holiday so enjoyable and memorable.
