We arrived in Palaiokhora and walked to all the hotels on the beach (southwest corner), most of them did not provide breakfast but there is a few bakeries and grocery stores in the same area; night-time restaurants are plentiful and in walking distance (there is a laundry mat close by) . We looked at a room (which turned out to be a suite) at the Elman Hotel. Very plain, very clean and 70 euro/night. We walked over to the Poseiden Hotel and the owner/receptionist showed us a room in the old hotel section (35 euro). We wanted to be in the new section so we were given a bottom-corner room with balcony (non-private) for a negotiated rate of 47 euro (when we left she asked what we were quoted and she said 50 euro? I think the rate changes with each new tenant). The owner would not allow walk-ins to move up to the higher, more private rooms even though the hotel was not full.
You can tell that cleanliness is next to godliness for this woman - everything was impectably clean and white. When we walked back from the beach, she had us rinse our feet with water from the hose. She was like a hawk watching people come and go.
The beds were hard and uncomfortable and they came with 2 starched white sheets.
There is free parking on the road in front if you get their early enough.
The rooms were kitchenettes with fridge/freezer, cooktop & coffee pot. Their was a safe in the room. No extras, no soap, shampoo, etc. TV was only greek. Free wi-fi.
The public beach was a 1 minute walk across the road; the nude beach was a 3 minute walk across the road and down to the right.
