“nice place, nice guy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

we stayed here for 5 nights in july and loved it. we were in the downstairs no view rooms but we slept like babies and felt at home. we only left because our room was booked and the hotel was full so we stayed at three other hotels over the course of our holiday, none better than aris. next time we will book our whole stay here in advance.

I stayed at Aris Hotel for 7 nights and I think it was a very good choice. I was a solo traveller, but the staff were very friendly and helpful and it really felt like home. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, it had free air-conditioning and free internet access, and I had a very nice private balcony. The bathroom was very basic, but clean and functional. The area is amazing. It's in a quiet location but very close to some nice beaches and to the center. And overall, Paleochora is a really great place if you want to get away or if you like nature.

I would recommend it to anyone travelling on a budget.

We (young couple, no children) stayed there for one night without breakfast. so i can only comment on the rooms & location. The photographs on the hotel website are outdated, there is now a new building between the hotel and the sea so no seaview from 90% of the rooms. No hot water boiler in the rooms. Our room was clean but very basic and the bathroom maybee a bit worn off. No double bed but two single beds.

Thank you for your review!
As for your comments we would like to note the following:
Aris Hotel has a total of 25 rooms, 10 of them have sea view.
The hotel uses solar energy for heating the water as well as a central water boiler for support.
All rooms in Aris Hotel has air-condition, small fridge, kettle, free wi-fi, telephone which are prety ok for a double room that costs between 25-35 euro in May.Bathrooms are 25 years old,we keep them in good condition and replace anything that breaks but it is very difficult to keep it "fresh". we start in winter 2012 the renovation of them. Most of the rooms in Aris Hotel are twin rooms, when couples prefer a double bed it is recomended to ask if there is one available and if not, we have an alternative solution by joining the two single beds to a double one with an extra matress.
Thank you!!

End of the road actually keeps it quiet n would even work better if were to get one of the back rooms in the middle of the gardens. Mini fridge, kettle n free WiFi. Small room, two beds (we pushed together) even smaller bathroom with cloth liner trying to keep water inside the shower stall, alas! Could use a second pillow. Dissapointed with morning breakfast buffet offering Lurpak butter instead of local creme n packets of jam instead of home made marmalade.
The coffee was fresh n one of the best I ever had in any coffee house n the fresh orange juice was pleasantly unexpected!
Friendly treatment allowed us to use dining area for ourselves n eat what we bought at local stores (habit dies rarely).
Two star n 40€ with breakfast for one night seems like reasonable but it does not separate it from the crowd. ..everybody is saved by the stunning beauty of the area

It's hard to beat 25 Euros a night for a private room, unless you're willing to go REALLY basic. The Aris Hotel is well worth its price tag, though don't go expecting any frills. We did, however, have a very pleasant balcony. The shower was tiny, but had good pressure. The beds were (as expected) hard, but Aris was really really accommodating and brought me THREE extra pillows (and not the awful, old, flat ones you generally get in budget places...but good plump pillows!). The location is also great, so, unless you're looking for long term comfort (in which case, the Libyan Princess is a better bet), Aris is a perfectly respectable choice.

The Aris Hotel in Paleohora is a must!
The family ambiance makes you feel at home!
The hotel is quietly located just a couple of minutes walk from the very center of Paleohora
and surrounded by a very well taken garden.
All rooms are provided with air conditioning and nicely decorated with local handicrafts!
For lunch or dinner try Methexis Taverna, just in front of the Hotel! Great homemade food!
