“"Great time"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Just back after 14nights and can't wait till next year to return. This was our second visit to the hotel and really enjoyed it again. We Stayed in the main building this time on the 3rd floor,with a fantastic view of the beach and sea. The hotel is spotless as was the room, "all" the staff work like busy bee,s. We found all the hotel staff very helpful and friendly from the minute we arrived and throughout our stay. The restaurant serves a good variety of food to cater for all tastes, we could always find something we enjoy along with tasty red,rosé,or white,wine and beer on tap.
The hotel pool is great ,plenty of sunbeds for lazing around, and if you fancy a snack plenty of food and drinks in the pool bar. The beach is something else, golden sand,crystal clear water.and the breaking waves are just fantastic. Just a short walk from the hotel to the shops and taverna's, car and bike hire for exploring the Island. All in all this is a great hotel for a holiday.
Zach, couldn't believe you remembered us from last year,you even remembered our drinks...lol

I spent 8 nights at Arina Sands (May/June ’13) with my husband and 20 month old son. During the booking process Arina Sands was presented as 5*, once booked the information then said 4*.
THE ROOM
Pros- clean, comfortable and very spacious for our son to run around in. Lovely sea view.
Cons- the bathroom is basic. The toilet seat looked terrible, you’re also not allowed to flush toilet tissue down the toilet so it goes in the bin (although bins are emptied daily you’d better keep your bathroom window open for the duration of your stay)! There’s a bath with a shower attachment and a tiny shower screen which means you’re likely to wet the floor when having a shower (though the floor is tiled and has a ‘wet room’ type drain in it and housekeeping change the bath mat daily too).
{On the first day there was a huge cockroach in the bathroom, I’ve seen roaches before in America, but my lord, that was a mother of a roach!}
THE RESTAURANT
Pros- The restaurant was clean and they do nice European pancakes in the mornings. International food.
Cons- Again, international food (only Greek food is the olives and yoghurt). Unfortunately Spam seems to be in abundance! Food is very basic and repetitive (typical all inclusive).
{They also do a BBQ night that you pay 15Euro to attend- really worth while as there’s Greek food and dancing.}
FACILITIES
Pros- Lovely lady (Efihitia) doing massage in treatment rooms.
Cons- The gym was a room with 4 pieces of equipment (the running machine was out of order so 3 pieces). No sauna or steam room.
{There seemed to be a resident cat on the grounds and maybe 2 dogs that would pass through (obviously never inside the hotel just on the grounds).}
THE BEACH
Pros- The hotel is right on the beach. The beach is lovely and sandy and when entering the water the sea bed is very level (even 10 metres in, the water is still only at your waist) so children can play safely in the water.
Cons- windy days=very rough water, still days=calm water but seaweed washed ashore.

OVERALL
Now, what made the holiday fantastic is the hotel atmosphere. The staff were friendly (the ANIMATION TEAM, the guy at the bar, the restaurant staff, housekeeping), the guests were friendly too (mostly Russian, followed by people from Ukraine, Czech Republic, Germany and Italy) but I did go with a cute and bubbly little boy so everyone would say hello to him and therefore talk to us!
The Animation Team (S’ Daly, Scubi, Nastia, Sara, Veronika, Julia, Daniel) run the miniclub and were so friendly towards us, they organise the sports and other activities, they do face painting and a children’s disco every night and they have ‘show time’ after the disco. The shows vary. One night they had the children perform cabaret (they had practiced at 3pm with the children, which must have been very difficult given the number of children, the varying ages and languages, but they made a show nonetheless). Another night Daly (a great dancer) performed a show with fire breathing, lifting people up whilst laying on broken glass and belly dancing (performed by Nastia), brilliant! Other nights they did comedy sketches, they did game shows, allsorts and all good fun. I would say that ‘show time’ is for the parents after the children have had their disco. I’ll miss the animation team they made the holiday!! Next trip... Lille? lol!
Not that you’re there to watch TV but the only English channel is CNN, though some of the Greek channels have non-dubbed Hollywood movies on at night with Greek subtitles, there’s also a DVD player in the room with free DVDs available in reception but they hardly have any English DVDs and they’re all old so bring your own.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view room

My father and I have just returned from a very relaxing holiday. This was the first time we have stayed here but would come back again. The hotel was spotless and the rooms very comfortable, there was plenty of choice in the restaurant/pool bar and the staff were very helpful. My only complaint would be the animation team and lack of evening entertainment, they really only catered for the kids. Great pool and beach very clean and safe.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view are best.

Just returned from our fourth holiday to Arina Sand. What can I say except it is just not the same under the new management which seems to have affected the whole atmosphere of the place particularly where the staff are concerned and Mr. Manager if you are going to keep making your presence felt it might be an idea to smile occasionally and give the guests a friendly greeting once in a while. We have a saying in Britain 'If its not broken why fix it?' and as for Katerina being moved from the Beach Bar, it was almost like losing a friend. The same goes for Nikos who was an excellent barman so why put him in the kitchen? Thank goodness for Zach and Eleni (please dont change their job descriptions). While on the subject of Eleni if it wasnt for her Greek dancing skills the bbq would be a flop. Enough of the negatives, the location is stunning, the beach fantastic, rooms and communal areas clean thanks to the maids who work their socks off. Food is fine and if you cant find anything to suit you then there's something wrong with you. Pasta, salads, desserts and breads are particularly good but it is a pain having to wait in a long queue for a fried egg at breakfast. The Animation Team weren't up to much this year but we were spoiled last year with Harry, Keshia and their team who were fantastic making the days fun and the evening shows brilliant. Think its time for a change next year although my husband will miss his international early morning coffee club which some days was like an international summit!!!! and I do feel that the Russian invasion and their lack of any form of manners will be the hotels downfall. Rant over.

We visited last week and had a really lovely, relaxing holiday with our children. We felt safe, the staff were lovely and the hotel was run brilliantly. The children had a fantastic time either in the sea or swimming in the beautiful (huge)! Salt water pool. To not think about cooking food for a week was a luxury for us as we usually spend a fortune on villas. The children made friends with others and could pop into animation if they liked where they did numerous activities with fantastic staff ready to please them. The beds were comfortable and rooms clean. You can borrow DVD's from reception if you fancy a quiet night. This really is a hotel that caters for families, not for those wanting to dance the night away. The airport is close so no long journey after the flight- 15mins away and about 5 euros in a taxi.

Room Tip: We had bungalows next to the beach rather than being in the hotel - 1 minute walk to the hotel or be...

We were a family of 4 (two adults, two kids aged 4 and 5. We stayed during the May half term in a bungalow overlooking the sea.

Good points:Lovely position and views being right on the beach, the pool side bar is lovely, food was fresh and there was a good selection, pool towels provided free, basic but good facilities for showering and changing after checking out on last day, lots of activities for the children (kids club, mini disco) and really friendly animation team.

Bad points:No sun loungers free round the pool after 9am although it did get less busy after 1pm, rooms are very basic but don't forget 4 star is a reflection of the facilities on offer not the standard of the decor, they need more dining room staff to cope with the turnover of tables. Those that worked there tried very hard to keep up but couldn't manage with the sheer volume of people.

Overall this was a great holiday not spoiled by very minor irritations.

Room Tip: Bungalows are nice. Don't know what the standard rooms were like but you may not get an unspoilt...

Spent a week here start of may and all we wanted was a simple quiet week away in the sun. We got exactly that and both felt a little more relaxed and chilled on our return.

The Hotel is clean and simple, the staff were all helpful. Overall the place is a bit tired but the room although plain was fine.

The food is ok and more in line with a work canteen standard (which is ok) but I have never felt compelled to say to the family come guys lets go for that special meal in my canteen at work. but its hot, plentiful and simple if a little unenspired.

So keep your expectations real, this is not a 5 star hotel or even a 4 BUT its ok and we had a nice relaxing time.
