“1 Year old 1 Michelin Star”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My wife decided we should stay somewhere new. And what a find!! La Maison d'à Côté, opened a year ago, and has won a very well earned Michelin Star within the year. Our room was stylish opposite the church. The restaurant was chic, however the food put everything into the shade! We chose the Menu "Carte Blanche", 5 courses after the amuse bouche. Daunting perhaps, but we were not over-faced!! We had fishes from the Loire, fishes from the sea, Veal, wild flowers, new seasons(green) Asparagus, and the most imaginative strawberries, ever. Christopher Hay, Chef Owner worked under Paul Bocuse and in America, others had worked in France and Japan. From superb bread to our desert the chefs came and explained what we were about to eat, the dishes were so full of imagination. The wine list had plenty of wines from the Loire, other regions and the world, many reasonably priced; and a very enthusiastic sommelier to hand. We will be going again!

I have no doubt that we experienced a hiccup in service as a result of heavy Easter demand, and that the young couple will make a great success of this newly starred restaurant. Unfortunately for us, the service was far too slow - having started our meal at 8 pm we only managed to get away before midnight by passing on the coffee - which meant that the evening was not the pleasure it should have been. This was a particular shame as some of the dishes were outstanding: we thought the sea urchin, sea bass and deconstructed egg dishes verged on two star quality. Of the seven courses, only the riz de veau disappointed, and we would certainly have given the restaurant 5 out of 5 were it not for the pace.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four nights in October 2014. We really enjoyed our stay here. It is very well situated close to Blois, and very near many of the Chateau of the Loire.
The owners and their staff are very welcoming and nothing too much trouble.
The rooms are very nice with very comfortable beds. Free wi fi, and safe off road parking directly opposite the hotel.
The restaurant is a must! The food was amazing! Every meal was an experience, with the chef taking time to come and explain the food.
Thank you to head chef Christopher and his wife Emmanuelle for making our stay so enjoyable.

We had a lovely one-night stay last month. The location was perfect for us on our way to the Dordogne area. Also very close to Chambord which is not to be missed. The room was nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. There was a desk area with WiFi so my husband could do some work. Very new flat screen tv was great addition. But the best part of all was our dinner in the dining room! The new owners are a chef and his wife, and the menu was great, as was the wine list - food was delicious and service was perfect. Our first night in France was memorable. I would highly recommend this charming hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was on the street side but noise was not a problem.

We stayed there over-night during a lovely cycling trip through the Loire Valley (great experience to cycle in Loire, full of cycling lanes next to the river...).
The owner nicely found a enclosed place to keep our bikes safe over-bight.
The room were clean and tidy, nice view on a quiet street overlooking the old church.
The bed was very comfortable.
The restaurant is excellent, this is really french gastronomy at its heart. The chef comes to welcome you and then prepare a menu according to your taste and his intuition, one of the best meal I had recently.
I will remember for a while the beef fillet with vasabi sauce and the pigeon cooked three ways.
Couldn't recommend that place more!
