My wife decided we should stay somewhere new. And what a find!! La Maison d'à Côté, opened a year ago, and has won a very well earned Michelin Star within the year. Our room was stylish opposite the church. The restaurant was chic, however the food put everything into the shade! We chose the Menu "Carte Blanche", 5 courses after the amuse bouche. Daunting perhaps, but we were not over-faced!! We had fishes from the Loire, fishes from the sea, Veal, wild flowers, new seasons(green) Asparagus, and the most imaginative strawberries, ever. Christopher Hay, Chef Owner worked under Paul Bocuse and in America, others had worked in France and Japan. From superb bread to our desert the chefs came and explained what we were about to eat, the dishes were so full of imagination. The wine list had plenty of wines from the Loire, other regions and the world, many reasonably priced; and a very enthusiastic sommelier to hand. We will be going again!
