“We love the town, the people and the weather”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2011

My husband and I Mr Touray visited Croatia during the Easter Break, we stayed for a week. We had a very pleasant holidays. The location is very central. The personnel very attentive, helpful and professional. They helpped us with all our queries, inclusive made some sandwiches for us when departing.
The breakfast was fabulous so were the people who cook it.
I would. like to visit the Hotel again. We met turists from Germany, Spain, England and Norway and a lot of families with young children. I am always commenting with friends, how beautiful is Baska Voda, and the wonderful break we had at Hotel Coatia

Room Tip: better an interior room, delivery can be noisy

We strongly recommend this hotel. It is beautiful, clean, perfect location, nice and attentive staff. They would bend over backwards to make you happy.
Baska Voda is a blessed place on earth, pleasant temperature, the sea line is full of pine trees that provide shadow, the water is turquoise and without waves, perfect for small children. The food is very good and healthy (Karlo and King restaurants are really good). We will return to hotel Croatia that has been a home away from home for 10 days, in this small paradise and I hope to see you all there!

This is simply a great Hotel in a beautiful location. Comfortable and well appointed rooms at a very reasonable price. We stayed for 3 nights and wished it was more. The staff were amazing, incredibly helpful. As an example, when we were leaving, the girl on reception organised a friend to drive us to the bus station up the hill as there were no taxis available at that stage. Further, the breakfast is probably the best that we have experienced in European Hotels. As an aside if you are travelling to/from Baska Voda by bus be careful of the time table. The buses do not always stop at the centre of the town as the bus schedule suggests

Hotel a minute walk from the sea, around the corner from restaurants etc. Hotel rooms newly renovated this year apparently and high standard (massage showers, very clean, good decor). I got amazing price (E30 per night) because it was end of season but prices in general seem good. Breakfast typical with bread, meat, cheese, fruit etc but also option of omelette, egg and some other options. Staff very attentive.

We only spent one night in the Hotel Croatia and would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone. We were given the room on the ground floor which was really good as it had a small outdoor sitting area. The hotel is extremely clean, the room design is very nice, luxurious feeling, big double bed, fabulous bathroom with a VERY large shower. The staff speaks english and is very friendly, make you feel welcome. The breakfast was tasty but could've been a bit more varied though. Great location, very nice place to stay, close to the beach. There's nothing we could say we didn't like about the hotel and for the price we paid it is just incredible!

Its such a shame, this is a really nice hotel but is let down by the staff. They are unfriendly, answer questions with short one word answers. What is worse is that we found that they didnt even seem to know much about the area or information that would be beneficial to tourists. My friend and I stayed here for 5 days, on day 2 we asked the receptionist where the bus stop was to get the bus to Markarska. He pointed us in the direction and told us the bus comes every 20 minutes. We went and sat there for an hour and a half and finally went to the taxi rank, only to be told the bus does not go from there.

We also enquired about nightlife, with no useful answers. On our last day we wanted a taxi to the bus stop at the top of the hill so that we could get a bus to split. It seemed that this was something the hotel were unable to arrange and needed to be repeatedly asked before offering themselves to take us on this 5 minute journey.

There also seemed to be an abundance of large flies (dead & alive) in the hallways of this hotel.

Staff had to be told repeatedly to replace used glasses and towels in the room.

I would not recommend the location for more than a couple of days, there is little to do in the area and transportation to neighbouring areas is difficult/expensive.

I traveled with my boyfriend and another 2 friends and we enjoyed very much staying there. It is near the beach (distances presented on the hotel site are real => good location) and also quiet because is somehow positioned on the second row from the street.
Very clean and comfortable; very nice and helpful staff, - they really make a difference, very good services, diverse breakfast (vegetarian would also have good options).
It is not a big hotel and that, together with the staff attidude, gives it a more personal atmosphere.
Some minuses are:
- the hotel does not have a parking, fortunately we found a place in the city parking, near the sea (where the hotel may also reserve places if you let them know in advance) for 10 kuna (1,5 euro) per hour
- with few exceptions, the rooms do not have balconies.
- do not recommend the sea view rooms (you cannot actually see the sea - as I mentioned the hotel is on the second row from the street and the trees are blocking the view). We stayed in park view rooms and it was better because in our case it was actually interior garden view. If we could have chosen the ground floor, than we would have had a terrace.

However, there were no major minuses and we would stay at Hotel Croatia again.

Also liked the nearby restaurant - The King for its elegant host and atmosphere (good dishes, though prices were above average). The hotel staff recommended us Karlo restaurant (whereyou get a discount - 5% if I remember correctly - for being a guest in Hotel Croatia) - though not as elegant as King - it has a friendly staff, very good dishes and lower prices.
