“Best spa hotel in Austria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

This was our 3rd time at this hotel in Austria. It has an excellent spa with many different kind of saunas you would never think of. It is just amazing. Take a look at the website to find out details. The location of the hotel is superb, with a view to the Stubaier Gletscher. The Gletscher is a great skiing area with 100kms to ski. The ski lopes are great, and in April the snow was still very good. The hotel restaurant is amazing, there is 4 course gourmet dinner every day. Breakfast is also excellent, an amazing choice of food for all tastes. The rooms are spacious, except room 401 Burgstall what we got at the first place. We complained because we booked a different kind of room. The next day we got a great room also in the main building but on the 1st floor which is not the most quiet floor. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and the staff was very kind.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side have great view. I prefer rooms on the 2nd, 3rd or top floor as they are ver...

We revisited the Jagdhof after six years over the Easter, and it was even better than we remembered it. This family-run establishment has charming staff, a superb location surrounded by ice-capped mountains, an excellent spa and great dinners in the half-board deal. Having been picked up at Innsbruck Airport by the hotel bus, we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Our room was ready before noon, and it was a really pleasant suite with great facilities, including large balcony and living area, and substantial bathroom facilities. Wifi is free, fruit basket replenished daily and TVs have a DVD player. Six-course dinners include excellent buffets and a menu that varied nightly. Only downside is they still allow smoking in the bar (though not elsewhere) and they charge for mineral water in the room. We took the bus - running three times an hour - into Innsbruck, and the old town is well worth a visit, and otherwise enjoyed the local walks. I'm sure we'll be back.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony and mountain views.

We just returned from a long weekend ski trip to Stubai Glacier and, after reading online reviews, we decided to stay nearby at the Jagdhof for the first time. We had stayed at other Relais & Châteaux associated hotels and trusted to brand. For us, it lived up to our expectation. Upon arrival we were greeted with complimentary wine as our room was prepared. The outstanding service continued for the rest of the weekend. Any request we had was fulfilled by the staff and the manager was always on hand confirming the guests comfort.
As a family of four (two boys 11 and 8), we stayed in the main building apartments and found them to be quite comfortable. When we had to change rooms for a minor unforeseen issue, the staff upgraded us to the largest apartment available. It had two bathrooms, a breakfast nook and a personal sauna (Rm 127). The boys got their own mini-wing.
Still the main reason to stay here is the AMAZING spa. We didn’t fully understand its size and spender until we experienced it. Perfect for after a long day skiing or all day relaxing. The boys played in the pool and enjoyed their kids’ robes and tea. My wife did the three-hour guided spa excursion.
The hotel restaurant breakfast and dinner was outstanding, with great service and a table was always waiting for us.
We rarely stay in the same place twice, but we will defiantly return to Jagdhof and stay longer.

Room Tip: Request rooms by number. Best to stay in main building not above kitchen. Recommend upper floors.

The good location and the excellent food are two reasons to go to the Jagdhof hotel. Unfortunally there are several reasons why not to go : the communication in the hotel is a bit like "fawlty towers". It was our third stay in the hotel this year and we wanted to book for next year : no problem, the room we desired was already prebooked but they offered us two standard rooms next to eachother which was OK for us. The hotel promised to keep us informed which of course did not happen. After two weeks I took contact with to hotel to get my written confirmation and suddenly there were no more rooms available in the hotel and they wanted to put us in an annex ( cold and far away from the main building next to the litter). This is already the second time that they messed up with the rooms ( last year we had to sleep with 4 in a 3 persons room) . Please : alway ask for a written confirmation WITH ROOMNUMBER otherwise they do not keep their promisses. Their attitude towards their customers is below 3 star standaard. No respect , no nothing they have for thier guests. Terrible attidude to work or to own a hotel. I hope you will find a better hotel... We do not come here anymore

Room Tip: Rooms in the main building . The others are to cold and to far away.

Classic 5-star alpenstyle luxury, with around 2000 square meters of spa etc. The hotel itself is not modern, but classic. The style of the rooms are typical for the alps, but with equipement and service well worth the 5 stars. The food is top-notch, we were served a 6-course gourmet dinner included in the half-board. Breakfast is unreal, with everythiing you ever would dream of.
The service in general was very good and friendly. We extended our stay with one extra night, since we liked it so much at Hotel Jagdhof. Great value, overall. Recommended!
The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to the skilifts up the valley.

My wife and I have stayed at The Jagdhof 7 times since March 2008. Four in the winter and 3 times in the summer. Every visit has been superb with no bad experiences.

The staff have pretty much remained the same throughout, only Reception seem to turnover staff but even then the new staff are all professional and helpful.

The restaurant, bar and spa are faultless (other reviews cover them well) and help make the whole experience one to remember. We have stayed over two birthdays and the staff go out of their way to make those days even more special.

If you are looking for a luxurious alpine holiday then look no further than this hotel, we've just returned from skiing and have booked to go back in 5 weeks!

Room Tip: Choose a room in the main building looking towards the glacier, that way you do not have to walk thr...

We stayed at the Jagdhof for a skiing holiday. Upon arrival we were greated with friendly staff with champayne. The room is very large and spacious, the bathroom is amazing with walk in shower, large bath tub and heated floor!
The food is very high quality, great menu every day.
The spa was the best part of my stay at the Jagdhof, with many different rooms and treatments offered. The hotel itself is very traditional, the staff were always very helpfull and friendly.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at Jagdhof and would recommend this hotel.
