“Costa Rica Cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

After looking at all of the Monteverde and Santa Elena reviews for places to eat dinner, we decided on Soda La Salvadita based on other comments. The place is just up the hill to the north of the business area. It is small and cute. We took seats at an empty table and in a minute the owner came to shake our hands and greet us.

My wife had the sea bass with avocado and I had the chicken breast with avocado. Everything was so tasty. Too bad we are leaving tomorrow; we'd be going back again if only we had the chance.

“Look for it you won't regret it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

It took us an hour to find the place since the agent at the Chamber of commerce sent us in the wrong direction. But it was worth the trouble. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices reasonable. The owner is very pleasant and took time to chat with us since the restaurant was quiet. At the end, he called us a taxi to go back to our hotel. Highly recommended if you want to eat excellent typical Costarican food.

“Delicious, cheap and undiscovered”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We had by far the best casado here (ubiquitous Costa Rican dish). Delicious fish and yucca. We came here for lunch and returned for dinner we were so thrilled with our meal. Also best fruit drinks we have had - we tried the melon, mango and banana. Huge portions and extremely cheap!!! Also the family who owns the restaurant was extremely nice. They gave us advice about where to best see the sunset and about buses (in Spanish, not sure if they know any English or not). This place is off of the main three blocks of town, but only about a two minute walk. I have no idea why more people do not come here, maybe they are thrown off that the restaurant is empty. Please give these people business the food is great!!

“Excellent food and service!”

Just a little further up the road, but absolutely worth the extra 50 meters walk from the town center! Pure fresh food made with love!
