“Overpriced and overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

I was far from impressed with the orchid garden. There isn't a lot to see, it is overpriced, and the guide was a bit stand-off-ish.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

This little orchid garden was kind of hidden in Santa Elena but it unveils as a little garden with hundreds of species of orchids. Many of the orchids were very small to our surprise. Our guide was very very knowledgeable and we learned so much. She also gave us hints on how to find them in the wild in the Monteverde Reserve.

“Orchid School”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Well knowing nothing in particular about orchids, it was a learning experience. We avoided the bat, reptile, etc shows which remind me of Rapid City SD. But we popped in here. I thought it was overpriced but the guide was very knowledgable. An odd little garden right off the main drag.

“Tiny but powerful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

Pocket research establishment. Locak Orchids so don't look for the big, showy plants. Some of the most interesting blooms and plants I have seen outside the Missouri Botanical Garden. Guide knew her plants and was able to answer Spanish and English questions in such a way that all of us felt we understood what she was saying. Well worth supporting

“Educational and lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

This is not a garden that wows you with thousands of huge orchids. Rather the enchantment comes through learning about the variety and growth habits of the many local orchids. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. The high rating the garden receives is well earned and I recommend a visit to anyone interested in gardening. We also loved the Morphos cafe next door.
