“local and tasty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

There are two restaurants by the same name owned by the same person. Have your cab driver take you to the older one downtown by the soccer field for the best food. The other one has great views. It's only slightly cheaper than the states... but that is true of most food down there. Costa Rican food is not spicy at all, but still has good flavor.

“Very disappointing. Food was mostly inedible. Not worth a visit.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

We went here because not only did the place get a high Trip Advisor rating, but also a glowing recommendation from a local. I ordered Grandma's special chicken, and the meat was hard and stringy and overcooked. I tried to eat it but it was like gnawing on a piece of wood. I mentioned this to the waiter and he made a sympathetic noise and took away my plate. No mention of trying to fix the issue. It was really terrible. The rest of the food on the plate was flavorless and basic.

“Good Food at Reasonable Price”

The food was local cuisine, good and the price was reasonable. The location is good and the facilities are clean.

“Not great”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

We had two separate locals recommend this place so we tried it twice for a total of four meals. Of those four, only one was somewhat okay. The worst was a quesadilla which I ordered assuming it would be really basic and failproof. It turned out to be made with american cheese, that velveeta-ish stuff. It was all but inedible and it is galling to spend seven dollars for a mission tortilla and velveeta. The restaurant does have a nice view. I would not recommend eating here, though the food is edible if you're starving.

“Great view, food was hit or miss”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

Good cheaper place with a gorgeous view of the Nicoya Gulf (as long as the cloud cover agrees!) but our food was hit or miss and often too greasy. Ceviche was awesome.
