“Avoid Diving There !!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

Payed in advance a two dives trip out of Montezuma with an agency named "Cabo Blanco Travelers". $270 for two people. Turned out once you've paid, nobody cares about your satisfaction. Boat left an hour late. We met the Turismo Curu boat at sea and transferred on it. All our gear has been already picked and prepared, we didn't get to chose size for BCD, wetsuit, fins and so on - it had all been guesstimated by the agency and phoned to Turismo Curu. Nobody cared to ask for our experience and certification. The divemaster did not speak English - briefing was made by the person staying on the boat - apparently in charge - forgetting to mention the dive depth ! We were rushed in the water to find out that that one regulator was leaking and some divers were not weighted properly and could not descend. Visibility was under 10ft nothing to see - the dive was just a mess. Divemaster obviously unable to keep the 6 divers organized - nobody knowing where to go or who to follow. At some point a girl was alone by herself, water in her mask, not knowing how to clear it.. The divemaster did not wait for us. After a while we surfaced as the rest went on... The guy on the boat apparently in charge was rude and just seemed not really concerned by our safety. We decided not to go for the second dive and he just threatened us not to refund in any way. All in all, no fun, bad diving spot choice, lots of safety issues and just the feeling that you've been purged a few hundreds $$.

“Definitely worth a visit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

Best national park during my trip to Costa Rica (not been to the Caribbean side though). It is a beautiful place that has a real "jungle feeling" to it with very little of a real tourist attraction. I have even been chased by monkeys but that was the kind of experience I was looking for ;-).

“Our favorite location in CR!”

I highly recommend renting a kayak and going up the river at high tide then going across the bay to a secluded little beach. This was magic for us!

“Didn't see much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

We visited the park as part of excursion to Tortuga Island. We arrived by boat and it was a nice scenic ride. It was hot and we walked around for about two hours. There were monkeys at the beginning of the trail, and that was about it. Not too much into foliage so wasn't too interesting. Make sure you bring water, it is very expensive to purchase $4US.

“Fabulous wildlife and beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

Long beach and jungle with several trails of differing lengths and difficulty. Plenty of wildlife to see if you are quiet. Good swimming beach. Some shade available.
