“Dave and Susan Roberts - The best anniversary trip ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

We spent 10 days at Tango Mar and we still miss the friendly, fun, staff. We can't wait to go back. Our Tiki Suite was clean and comfortable with internet access and the most delicious coffee. The food was great with so many options we weren't able to try everything. Tango Mar is secluded but that is one of many great things about it. We enjoyed horseback rides, snorkeling, swimming, hikes around the property, massage, and lots of relaxing. Margueritas at 4:00 in the pool? No problem! Anything we needed, all we had to do was ask. Jesse arranged a rental car for us - the car was dropped off and picked up at the hotel - so we could explore the area. Thank you Hilda and all for a lovely visit - you really know how to make your guests feel welcome!

We just came back from our vacation at Tango Mar - excellent quality resort, with very good service, food, and fantastic massages! Internet is fast. Very helpful and friendly staff. Front desk and restaurant employees speak English well. The owner is almost always around and talked to us every day to find out how we are doing. The grounds are big and also accommodate vegetable and herb garden, horse stables, tennis court, golf fields, and natural waterfall. It has a very private relaxing feeling to it. Will go again and take friends with us. Thank you!!!

Room Tip: If you like to see the ocean - beachfront rooms, but it might be noisy if your doors are open. Close...

Stayed in a Tiki Suite for a few days and it was the best part of our entire time in Costa Rica. Tango Mar is very relaxing, secluded and the staff is amazing. The only drawback is the remote location, but there are towns within a short drive, just nothing else within walking distance. They offer a few activities on site, such as a horseback ride through the jungle and to Tambor which is a great way to spend a morning before relaxing by the pool or in the hammocks. Always felt quiet and calm even though they were at capacity; a perfect relaxing location. Wish we could have stayed longer and will be back again!

Absolutely lovely hotel at one of Costa Rica´s best beaches. Most rooms view directly to the sea. The restaurant is first class (don´t miss the "mariscada"). But the best... is the people: they are like a big family, efficient but very friendly, they really make you feel as their guest.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with direct view to the sea

After a friendly welcome at the reception (including a welcome drink and refreshing wet towel) we were guided to the Royal villa (a very nice upgrade which was much appreciated). The accommodation was very clean with all luxury. The private portch was great to relax and we could take a dip in our private watter pool.
The food was good but could be a little bit more refined. The service was great and it was a nice stay. We were able to relax and take a swim in their nice pools.
The wet bar is always a good idea and the pool side restaurant is a big plus.

We arrived at Tango Mar, (which was our 2nd stop in the area, 1rst being Montezuma) and were delighted to see the attractive open reception area and restaurant / bar area. Jessie at the front desk was really kind to us ( we needed some TLC after our bug-infested experience at the first place we stayed) and got us situated in our rooms in the Royal Villa. Loved the beach front room, it was surprisingly spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a modern bathroom with a big shower. My room had the full amenities of AC, ceiling fans, a safe, TV ( mostly Spanish, but it did have 3 English channels) Upstairs there was a full terrace with chaises and market umbrellas and a little private pool to cool down. I couldn't have been happier with the accommodations.... ( one minor suggestion is that the bed in 1602 needs to be replaced)

We'd already done some of the tours at the first place, so for the 4 days we were here, we vegged out and explored the grounds... Make sure to walk to the lookout, it's amazing! I had the BEST lymphatic massage by Lucinda that I've ever had in my life!!! Other staff there were kind, friendly and accommodating, especially Royland and Dory. These folks are super nice!

It's hard to swim at the beach there, seemed to be lots of logs being tossed around by a powerful surf, but the beach is lovely anyway, and good for walking. There are plenty of interesting tours to book at the front desk; they offer a great variety. Definitely go to the Curu Wildlife Refuge while you're there if you want to get up close with the monkeys!

I was very happy and satisfied with my stay at Tango Mar and would definitely go back.

Room Tip: I think the Royal Villa or the Deluxe Beach front rooms are best. Royal Villa is right next to the...

Well positioned by a lovely beach. The Tikki Suite we stayed in was quiet and comfortable but needed a little attention. We had to hold the shower control on the wall when we adjusted it as it was so loose and having a frosted glass toilet door is not a good idea! It was strange having a fridge/mini bar in the room but with no drinks in it. But if we wanted anything we were able to ring reception and they were happy enough to bring it to our room. However these were minor irritations and didn't spoil the stay.
The thing that lifted this hotel above good was the excellent food in the restaurants both at lunch and dinner. Good choice, superb food and the owner walked around the restaurant every evening talking to the people at each table. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
The pools were good and had sun loungers with parasols and there were hammocks along the beach. A good choice for a relaxing break.

Room Tip: Tiki Suites are quiet and detached.
