Exceeded out expectation in every way, Great people, food, and the setting is perfect. The beachfront rooms, the amazing views from the pool, it was a little slice of paradise.

Our stay at the Tango Mar was a complete delight! Hilde is a very gracious hostess, loved meeting her. We had a terrific stay and waking up to the ocean was indescribable! <as i live in Montana, no ocean close!> The food and the staff at this hotel are incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing delightful place to stay. We were only there for three nights but could have stayed longer!

Love the owner, love the staff, LOVE the food they made for me (I'm a gluten-free vegetarian, and every night the chef made me new, exciting and really delicious meals. It was exquisite.), love the drinks, and hammocks and pools and beachfront location. This isn't the Four Seasons or The Ritz-- it's beautiful, classy, clean and well appointed, but it's also smaller, more intimate and a little rustic, so you should come expecting that. It's also in a very remote area-- don't plan on walking anywhere from the hotel. But the grounds are beautiful enough to entice you to stay there all day, and if you have some extra money to spend on outings, there are great ones. The snorkeling trip to Tortuga Island was MAGICAL. The beach. Oh my god. Crystal clear, warm, aquamarine water, white sand softer than you've ever felt, barely anyone there... I can't recommend it enough.

I don't recommend the private yoga-- overpriced and not challenging at all. But everything else was really wonderful. Great service, great people and those hammocks-- we must've spent hours lying under the palm trees, watching the waves and the sunsets. So beautiful and relaxing. We stayed in a Tiki Suite and while we did experience a few tiny bugs, the staff was great about helping us out and we recognize that when you're in a remote area surrounded by forest, that's gonna happen. Not a big deal. Don't come here if you're looking for nightlife or a bustling town to walk to. However, there are other places on the Peninsula for that, so you can easily stop here for some relaxation and then move on. You should definitely come here for rest, sunsets, hammocks, good food, a swim up pool bar with amazing drinks and a sweetheart bartender named Eduardo. You can also hike to a waterfall! Pretty awesome.

It's slightly overpriced. But it's a safe, clean beautiful beachfront hotel with good, accommodating people working there and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay before moving on to Santa Teresa.

Tango Mar Resort is paradise!!! My sister and I had a lovely room with a beautiful view of the ocean. The beach was spectacular - a fabulous setting with the most exquisite sunrises. The pool was lovely (perhaps not quite as big as it looks in the pictures) and I might add that the Pina Coladas by the pool were delicious!
Besides being in one of most amazing settings one could imagine, what made are trip even more special was the wonderful staff of Tango Mar. I would like to make special mention to Jessy at Reception who always greeted us with the warmest smile and was so helpful in planning our daily excursions. He basically planned our stay at Tango Mar and it was amazing - Thank you Jessy!!! Jessy's biggest tip was his suggestion to take the Super Tour where we went snorkeling in the morning and hiked through the Curu Wildlife Refuge in the afternoon. This is a "must" for those visiting the area. Juan and his brother Chema were are guides on the snorkeling part of this adventure and then Chema took us by boat to Curu where we spent about 1 1/2 hours walking through the Reserve. Chema was the best guide we have had on any of our adventures in Costa Rica - he was amazing! Chema was so knowledgeable about nature and the Park and we were so fortunate to see Howler Monkeys, White Faced Monkeys and a Scarlet Macaw.
Our second excursion at Tango Mar and a personal highlight for me, was an incredible ride with Michael to Montezuma through the jungle trails and on the Beach. This was my Dream come True!!! I have always wanted to ride on the beach and I will have this memory forever.
In short, we loved our stay here and I really hope we will be able to come back again next year!
