“A great, memorable stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

My boyfriend and I visited Costa Rica during the off season in July. We arrived to Vista Hermosa late in the evening, after driving through the pitch blackness of the Nicoya Peninsula at night. It was a bit hard to find... you have to look for the periodic signs on the side road.

Javier was there waiting for us and he gave us a gorgeous room with fresh flowers and a complimentary cocktail. He was very friendly and willing to answer any questions we had about the area. We were the only guests at the B&B, so we were totally spolied.

The food was wonderful. Javier whipped out a propane tank just for us and grilled a delicious surf and turf for dinner.

The hospitality and atmosphere of the hotel were so perfect that the boyfriend chose to propose to me that very night! It was an incredible experience.

Villa Vista Hermosa was chosen as our vacation stop as a result of the nice comments made in it's favour. Needless to say, the place exceeded our expectations of comfort, food quality and service!
Judy contacted me prior to the trip to let me know of excursions that she was setting up for her other guests, so we decided to join them.
Javier met us at the small landing strip at Tambor. This was so welcome after a red-eye flight from Los Angeles via San Jose (Costa Rica). It was the perfect start. I can't say enough about Judy and Javier and how far they go (with complete ease) to make the time there so nice. We barely had to think! Our excursions to Tortuga and our adventure on ATV's were marvelous! Judy and javier came along and enjoyed the day with us. They are more than hosts!!
We looked forward to the evening dinner with the guests who became friends. Splendid!
Tambor is a beautiful location. Simply natural and untouched. Peace at last.
The term 'bed and breakfast' does not do Villa Hermosa justice.
Thank you Judy and Javier. Without a doubt we will be back and all our friends will hear about your wonderful place.

Forget your cell phones, ipads, laptops, and watches and go back to nature and enjoy this wonderful B&B, with a natural beach only minutes away. We wanted to do a girls trip to a new destination, and feel safe, yet experience a new country. We booked all our excursions with the owner Judy, and were surprised when Javier also accompanied us with the local flair. The atv, zip line, were only topped by the most picturesque horseback ride from the forrest to the beach and surf. The "off season" aslo known as the rain season did not stop us at all, in fact we enjoyed the overcast days from the sun. Book now and enjoy!

Room Tip: We were in the main house, nice black out curtains, and a huge bathroom. Very clean. Full size bed...

We came as a group of four women ranging in age from 20's to 50's and had a marvelous time! Judy arranged all of our activities and her and Javier were our private escorts for a four hour horse ride through forests and beaches, a half-day ATV tour of the island and beaches, a half-day trip to Tortuga island for snorkeling and picnic and the treetop zip-line with waterfall experience I had been craving.
The food was exquisite and we ate all but two meals at Vista Hermosa during our five-night stay. We loved the service we received from Judy, Javier and Sonia and the company of the dogs when we did our daily walk to the beach. The other guests were lovely and we all enjoyed hanging out together in the evenings. When can I go back?

This was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever taken! This was our first family vacation out of the U.S. with our 2 year old and as expected had my concerns. Judy and Javier were very patient in answering all of my questions via email and phone while planning our trip. It's difficult to put our experience in words but I can truly say it was everything I had expected and more! Judy had mentioned that paradise had it's price, well it does. It took us a very long time to get to and from but it was WELL WORTH it! Traveling all day with a 2 year old can be hectic so when we finally made it to the B&B and were greeted by Judy and Javier I felt an incredible sense of relief and comfort... After that it was pure relaxation. We went with the 7 night package that's posted on the B&B website. The food was delicious, the rooms/house were amazing, and the tours were just what we wanted and expected. Also, the weather was amazing! I was very anxious about the "rainy season" but I'm glad I listened to Judy... I checked all weather sites and BELIEVE ME it didn't give accurate weather conditions (it would indicate rain throughout the day). We were there in May and it only rained at night, which was actually very soothing to hear. Throughout the day we had sunny and partly cloudy 80-90 degree weather (Fahrenheit). By the way, @ the B&B you get a wonderful breeze from the nearby beach! Don't hesitate to ask Judy and Javier about the weather conditions at Vista Hermosa.
Judy and Javier are very nice hosts. Took care of us throughout the entire stay. My son still talks about Nina and Braco (house dogs) that guided us on a walk to the beach. We'll miss them...
I would HIGHLY recommend Villa Vista Hermosa. Great place for a family vacation!

Pura Vida!

My three Friends were celebrating our 50 birthday. Myself never being out of the USA was very impressed with the Vista Hermosa Bed and Breakfast. We were feed very well with wonderful choices on the menu. We were taking wonderful day trips all over the Tambor area, with lots of action packed traveling. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with full service. If you want to just relax the pool is wonderful and the sounds of the monkeys are sooothing to compliment the lovely plants and trees on the grounds.

Room Tip: We stayed by the main area with just rooms to rent. If you want more privacy they have nice houses a...
