“Excellent Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

We initially planed to stay just one night at Cocomar. After spending our first night we liked the hotel so much that we extended our stay. For everybody who is going to stay at Cocomar, you want to make sure to order dinner at the hotel! The hotel manager Peter served us an outstanding Filet Mignon when we stayed at Cocomar. -Quality food for a fair price- Beachfront included!
What made our stay so special was not only the beautiful and secluded location but even more so
the perfect service we experienced when staying there! Our special thanks are going out to Peter (the hotel manager) who is truly dedicated to excellent service and quality. With his background information about the region as well as his culinary talent Peter is one of Cocomar´s main assets!
To everybody at Cocomar:
Keep up the great work! We´ll see you guys again next year!

The location is perfect to kick back and relax. But a vehicle would be needed to get to the nearby town of Parrita.

Stayed here for two nights on a late Feb. 2013 driving trip of Costa Rica. Lovely, secluded place on the road to Maual Antonio park just ouside Quepos. We were driving so the location, about 5 km off the paved road, was no problem, other than the typical Costa Rica driving fun, poorly signed roads and potholes that are truly impressive in both size and number, wasn't a problem.

The premises are clean and modern with a nice pool and lovely small kitchen that provides a complimentary breakfast and a dinner for a fee. There is not much along this quiet stretch of beach. If you want seclusion this place is perfect with a long sandy beach all to yourself. There is one other establishment down the road and the local school and that is about it.

It is about a half hour or 45 min trip to Maual Antonio or Quepos that has plenty of places to eat from soda's to fine dining. Manager and staff are first rate. Would certainly stay again, but I think you need to have your own means of transportation if you plan to explore further than the beach right outside your room door.

This was a great experience for my fiance and my first visit to Costa Rica. It is located on a very quiet and remote location between the small town of Paritta and the fishing village of Quepos. It is on an unpaved road (about 6KM) off highway 34. You are best to have a car.

We were greeted at the reception by Peter, who was wonderfully hospitable through our entire visit. Our rooms were large and very clean, with filtered drinking water and air conditioning. I was told the furniture, dining tables, etc. were built on site by local staff. The beach is literally steps away, and most often, we were the only ones on it! Very private indeed!

The pool looked nice to me but we didn't use it.

Breakfast was included everyday of our stay and was a nice experience. They served some local foods along with fresh fruit and fruit juices each day.

The owner and his son were both exceptionally pleasant.

I think if you want to have a time away to relax and a nice, clean hotel to stay at, I would highly recommend Cocomar.

if you are looking for a wide and miles and miles of clean beach for yourself, you need to book a room in this hotel. Also, the rooms are clean, large and very cozy. I like to party like everyone else, but sometimes you need some time for yourself. This place has one of the coolest beaches I've seen, and I've been in a lot of them. If you are looking for peace, great sun and lot fun times surfing for hours.. here a beach for you. Also, the hotel is very nice. Clean, good people, they speak english, spanish and german well.

Room Tip: get the suite, it's like having your private house at the beach. also, you have your own fully s...

This is a very well priced hotel with extremely friendly staff. The food they cook onsite is excellent, although the price is a bit high for CR. The only downside is that it is in a location with nothing around, down a fairly bumpy dirt road (about 4 miles or so). If you have a car its great, but if not, you'll be there until you leave. But, that's not such a bad thing. Down the street is a snooty French restauant - we weren't able to get reservations but heard its good. Also further down is a local CR place that is cheap and good food. You can also head into Parrita, just a few minutes away down a dirt road - lots of good CR places with cheap seafood.

Great spot...vet quiet and secluded. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make you feel at home. Pool and beach are nice. Great trip and very relaxing place to stay. I would definitely go back.

We enjoyed our stay tremendously. There is a short drive from Parrita to Manuel Antonio, but you are far removed from the crime and chaos of Quepos. It is quite warm and humid--swimming in the pool was wonderful, even at night. The setting is peaceful, friendly, and beautiful. The beach is close and peaceful and the motel room was perfect. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful. Peter is a wonderful cook, friendly host, and always available. Wonderful, personal service!
