“Great for that 6 am flight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

A pretty standard airport hotel --- you pay for location, not plush.

The hotel is an easy 5- to 10-minute walk from the airport (go to B1 level of the airport [if you're carrying luggage, think about using an elevator --- the airport escalators are long, winding, and sometime off-limits], same level as the trains to the city, and follow the lonely, insanely clean corridor to 'airport hotel').

The rooms are clean, quiet and functional; the bed is comfortable. Carpeting is beaten down some, and the walls could use fresh paint. We stayed 2 times inside of a month (one very late arrival at BKK, one very early departure); although check-out was quick, both times check-in involved a ~ 10-minute wait --- sometimes understandable, but not that fun at 12:30 am.

All in all, a good choice for an early flight out of BKK.

Our flight arrived from KL around 10.30 pm so we did not feel like going into Bangkok, since we had our flight out the next day at 2.15 am. We took the shuttle from the terminal which could have been avoided as we only had carry-on luggage and there is a covered walkway connecting terminal and hotel (5 min walk). Were checked-in very fast and with a smile and the best thing is that they allocate rooms on a 24h-basis, ie, we only had to check out at 11 pm the next day-perfect for a flight leaving at 2.15.
We had a good night's sleep as the beds are very comfortable ( standard at Accor hotels),had a full breakfast (good and plentiful enough albeit a bit on the cold side), lounged by the pool a while, took the train into BKK and back to the hotel, went to their gym,had a two-hour heavenly massage at their wonderful spa and finally checked out, refreshed and invigorated for the 12h flight home. What else can one wish for? All this at an extremely reasonable rate. Next time I'll connect flights in BKK I most certainly will stay at the Novotel. Love the concept. Only down side: the paying wifi connection was too unreliable but they very professionally waived the charge when we complained.

got to stay at the lovely place enroute to mumbai... though they have a shuttle to the airport on a very regular basis its about a 7 - 10 minute walk to the airport. its also convenient to take the airport express to the city but check timinigs so you are not waiting too long. very plesant and helpfull staff ... all and all a great stopover place.

We stayed here on an overnight layover in Bangkok and really didn't have the time or interest to go into town. As a place to stay overnight without the hassle of going into town, this hotel succeeds. The room was clean and comfortable.

There is an underground walkway from the terminal to the hotel but you'll be hard-pressed to find it if depending on signage. You can walk to the underground train station and keep walking and you'll find it. If you elect to take the shuttle, it seems like they wait until it's full before leaving for the hotel so you might have a bit of a wait if you get there before there are a bunch of other guests to transport.

The restaurants here were overpriced and very average with poor service. The breakfast, in particular, was an overcrowded free-for-all with the food picked over and not restocked/refreshed with any frequency.

Wifi was not free but was speedy enough.

Room Tip: Somewhere high up so it's quiet.

It looks like a palace from the outside and has all the staff in the world but they don’t seem to do much.

Room was fine but I expect internet at this price and it didn’t really work.

Room had ants in it and by the time they were going to move us we had given up and gone to bed. Bed was really comfortable though and the room was well appointed.

Tip: you may be better walking to this hotel because the bus takes ages to go around the road system.

The best airport hotel!

Positives
Fantastic hotel for transitting. We had a 12 hour wait before our midnight flight back home and it felt like we had stayed a whole night. So relaxing, especially by the pool where you feel miles away from the airport.
The hotel is run on military precision. From check in to the shuttle buses
The shuttle bus is so convenient and only takes 5 mins to the airport.
The spa was superb and a 25 % discount if you have a treatment before 3.
The hotel offers a 24 hour check in and check out.
The rooms were like a 5 star hotel. Lovely super king beds, excellent toiletries and tea and coffee making facility.

Negatives
We asked for an iron and we were only allowed it for 20 mins!
It takes a 30 minute drive to go to the nearest town.. Bear that in mind in case you wanted to eat outside the expensive hotel restaurants.

Overall fantastic for a Novotel. Well worth the extra money for peace of mind and relaxation before a long flight. Stay here!
