I found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and went there because I liked the look of the photos. It is a pain in the &*% to find but totally worth the hunt and being away from the main strip of restaurants is part of it's charm.
What I didn't expect was one of the best meals I have ever had. After 6 weeks in Sri Lanka, I have got used to most western food being acceptable immitations but this was really high quality food that would easily hold it's own in Florida where I live
When I read the menu I was pretty dubious as to where they would even find half the ingrediants mentioned but when my pizza arrived it looked gorgeous, it even had decent pesto. I Had the Vegetarian pizza and my friend ordered grilled Tuna, Both were perfect.
We sat downstairs and after we finished we explored around and found out that the kitchen is open plan upstairs where you can watch the chef work. My chef was a super smily Sri Lankan guy who showed me the insane wood fire where they cook everything. He doesn't seem to speak much English though as it would have been nice to find out more about the ingrediants. If we had known we would have totally sat up there, it has a great view over the whole bay.
Seriously if you are in the area check this place out but don't bother hunting, just get in a tuk tuk and ask for Sun n Sea it is only 5 mins from the main strip.
