“Wonderfully Secure”

This has to be almost the worst experience ever on over 700 days on Safari in Africa. Where else could you get a room on the ground floor where you had to leave the doors open in order not to cook yourself slowly overnight (34 c).
Dreadfull rooms rude staff and extremely poor food unless you like canteen style.
This is not what a safari experience should be!!!

Dear kensword, we were advised by our staff of your stay and we are sorry that our mid-range accommodation, including the tropical conditions, did not meet with you expectations. Having viewed where else you stayed whilst on safari in Uganda, we believe the top end lodge in Murchison would have been more your cup of tea.
Best wishes, MRL

I stayed there with my partner in February 2013, Georgie, one of the owners was exceptionally helpful with all the fine details of the booking and also ongoing directions to the lodge, thank you Georgie! Upon arrival we were met by one of the warm and welcoming owners of the lodge who immediately offered a cool refreshing drink whilst talking us through details of the lodge. The location at Murchison falls is perfect for safaris whilst the lodge itself has amazing panoramic views of the lake. There is no hustle and bustle of overcrowding with other guests which is fantastic for a more private relaxed stay. We stayed in tented accommodation, a first for me so I was feeling a little apprehensive. I was soon to find out what glamping was all about, everything at Murchison River Lodge was very clean from the sheets on the bed to the interior of the tent, no bugs or flies inside! We had our own warm shower and the toilet was impeccably clean. I felt very comfortable and relaxed. My favorite spot at the lodge was the comfy seats by the side of the restaurant area which over looked the stunning lake, so peaceful and calm. The owners and staff are very friendly, helpful and always available. The owners have put a great deal of attention to every aspect of detail with providing a very clean, comfortable, welcoming, beautiful environment and great service. They have created a very personal high quality touch accommodating to life in the outdoors. I would absolutely recommend the lodge to anyone travelling to Murchison Park.

Dear FatimaGarcia_13, it was such a joy to have you both stay with us at the Lodge and to help you with your itinerary so that you got the most out of your time in the park was our pleasure. Hoping that the rest of your journey around Uganda was a truly memorable one.
Best wishes, MRL

I did not actually stay at the Murchison RIver Lodge. I was at the Red Chilli Rest Camp nearby. However, we toped here for a drink, talked to the owner , and looked around. Compared to the Red Chilli, this is a much better alternative. If I go back to the park, I would definitely stay here instead of the Red Chilli. It is a bit more expensive, but from what I saw, well worth it.

Room Tip: This is "middle of the road" between The Red Chilli Rest Camp and the Paraa Safari Lodge a...

Stayed here over Christmas. The campsite facilities are great, clean and well designed shower and toilet block. The bar has amazing views of the Murchison River. It is very comfortable with plenty of space to relax after exploring. Staff very helpful and friendly.

We stayed here for several delightful days in early February. The lodge managers are a delightful couple that really made us all feel at home. This is the kind of place you could hang your hat for a few days and settle in. The view from the main lodge over looking the river is a knock out. We were picked up from the private dock for a birding centric tour of the river one day and saw a couple of Lions, scores of Hippos and quite a few Elephants, all up close and personal from the comfort of our private boat. Our accommodations were two of the sweet cabins on the property. They were delightful and buffed out with solar geezers and electricity. The food was really good too. I highly recommend this lodge over the huge tourist lodge across the river. Happy travels, J,H & N

A nice range of options, from camping yourself, to Pre-erected tents, to some more luxurious bandas. The reception was nice and every courtesy was extended.

We took our 25 month old daughter and what I was really surprised about was that there was a nanny service and the bandas had gates to stop little ones going upstairs. The swimming pool had a nice baby pool area and our every request (for an early dinner, for specific foods etc) was fulfilled perfectly and with no sign of it being a chore. This was a first and should be a serious consideration for all who have young kids.

Well done to Chris, the owner, he's done a great job.

We had booked full-board camping in our own tent and very welcomed friendly by the local staff and Chris, the manager.
The location offers a great view on the Nile and is conveniently close (enough) to the ferry to get to the northern side for the game drivers. Unfortunately, our stay took an unfortunate turn when a very bad spot on the road and a baboon messed up our car and us. The only positive side of it (apart from having survived) was the support provided by Chris who not only picked us from the local clinic but also offered us one of the cabins for free so we could put our fractured bones to rest in beds.
The food was good, the staff nice and the cabin comfy. And it was lovely to see how somebody is making his dream of a lodge in the wilderness come true.

We will be back - and take others with us.

Dear GrasseaterRome, I remember you and your family very clearly, especially in light of the unfortunate circumstances involving the car. I was happy to be able to help in any way that I could and hope that next time you return to stay with us you'll have better luck with the wildlife!
All the best, Chris
