“On the wild side from Chris and Les”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

We had the pleasure of meeting Quintin in Melbourne, our home town, in August at a dinner he hosted for some friends of ours, with his wines and ummy smoke cooked food - absolutely delicious. We have a property in Queenstown and were over visiting in September. We were delighted to take our NZ neighbours to lunch at Wild Earth Kitchen where we met up with Quintin again and enjoyed a lovely platter and wine tastings. Our neighbours are hooked on the food and wine, as we are. We are back again in Queenstown for a pre-Christmas visit and are heading to Wild Earth Kitchen again for more food and a wine top up! Ummm

We're more than happy to top up your wine and food needs. Quintin is quiet inspiring and a wonderful host and I'm sure he'll have some new stories to tell on your return. Christmas is fast approaching so we look forward to seeing you again soon.

“A great lunchtime experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

We had the wine tasting with the platter that accompanies it and the dessert to follow. An excellent meal in wonderful surroundings. Great value and well worth doing. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to Quintin and his team.

“Nothing quite so delightfully down to earth!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

We are totally privileged to reside in the stunning region of Central Otago. We entertain family and visitors from around the globe. When we ask these people if they might appreciate a unique dining experience it is always the Wild Earth Kitchen which gets the nod. We have never come away from their Kawerau Gorge facilities disappointed.
If you fancy outdoor (or indoor if necessary) dining amongst towering schist outcrops, shaded by poplars and accompanied by quietly singing birds and the relaxing scent of wild thyme just go there. Add the passion, innovation and enterprise of Quintin Quider and his equally enthusiastic and accomplished staff, to a beautifully cooked array of merino lamb, chicken, salmon, mussels and venison patties all subtly matched to selected award-winning wines, and you are guaranteed your money's worth without any regrets.
The barrel will be rolled out for you to provide exquisitely flavoured morsels of unexpected quality. If you appreciate fine dining we'll challenge to find better!

We also feel privileged to be surrounded by Centrals beauty. It inspires us every day. I look up at those great Shist outcrops and feel so lucky to live and work here. I'm glad our unique experience helps to show off the region to your guests. I hope you continue to bring your friends to see us and we'll continue to provide the service and quality you've come to expect.

“Best platter”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We went to have lunch at the Wild Earth restaurant and loved our meal.
The setting is stunning, beginning at the bridge across the river, a lovely natural garden and great decor.
We chose to have their platter which gives you a taste of most items on the menu and it was absolutely delicious as was the wine.
The service was great with very informative and friendly staff.
We will definitely be recommending Wild Earth to others. It is very popular especially in the weekends so it would pay to book!

“Not just a "Wow" - followed through with great Pinots, well matched”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

We had this placed recommended, and I was kind of hesitant. But with every mouthful, every taste, I was more and more impressed. Satisfied. And happy.
I am really struggling to decide which they do better. I know the Pinots are great and a struggle to tell which I prefer (but practice, practice, practice...) But the food to match was outstanding - the red meats in particular. Succulent lamb well complemented by the Pinot Noir, and the Venison Patties/Rissoles with chilli jam was fantastic. Exceptional. Oops nearly forgot the salmon which was beautifully smoke/flavoured... Succulent tender mussels... too many highlights. A great value tasting, leaving me with some dollars to buy a few take-away bottles, to help relive the memories later. Actually, make that "sooner"!

We're delighted you had such a wonderful experience with us. I hope you've since enjoyed your wine, always so difficult to cellar a few bottles, I just don't know how people can have such will power. We look forward to seeing you again if you're back this way. We hope to introduce a new menu in the near future so we will have some new delights for you to enjoy.
