We stayed at the station back in aug-sept 2009. The most memorable experience! The morning sunrise is breathless, the tranquility leaves you speechless. The cottage was delightful. Our best holiday experience yet..... Visit Erldunda if you want to go on a magical adventure. We have lots of gorgeous family photos that I treasure from our great experience at Erldunda!

Room Tip: The cottage is beautiful

Very poor accommodation for the price and uninterested staff .Stay here if you have to but might I suggest camping instead.

we've been there just for one night...luckly!
there were mice in our room during the night....disgusting!!!!

Unlickly there are not many accomodations that you can choose.

I paid 140$ for sleeping with the mice!!!!

I don't suggest this place

To think you can be battling the Melbourne morning rush hour to catch your plane and then be on the patio of your own self contained cottage in the centre of Australia watching the sun set that evening is as blissful as it gets.
This was a special 2 night stay in a clean and comfortable cottage, well equiped and completely self contained. The bed was fantastic and provided particularly good sleep.
Paula's breakfast served in the homestead is hearty country fare as she gives an insightful slant on outback life on a cattle station.
Dinner is available 2kms down the road at the Roadhouse but is only basic.Alternatively, you can eat in the homestead. We opted to cook our own from supplies we had got from Alice Springs.
Erldunda is perfectly located for a day trip to the beautiful Kings Canyon or if you are en route to Uluru.
The peace tranquility and remote nature of Erldunda is what we liked.

I give up. After 2 phone calls and 3 emails, I chose to give up trying to book this place.

My first email was answered after about 3 days and most of my questions were answered, to an almost adequate standard. So far so good. The stardard information word document they sent indicated that the accommodation needed to be paid in full by bank deposit at the time of booking. Credit cards were not accepted I found this a bit strange but proceeded anyway.

I did not receive a reply to my second email where I tried to book and asked for their bank details for the deposit. Ok this is the outback, email might not be their thing so after two weeks called them.

I called them and the phone was answered by the husband of the owner, he was pleasant enough but I was told his wife was in adelaide and took my number for her to call me.

After a bit of phone tag i was finally able to get on to the owner. She said she was on holidays and busy and to email.

I did email and after a day I received a reply with nothing but the stardard information document. No answer as to if the date was ok or the bank account details.

After another 3 weeks I still don't have a reply. I give up.

This little cottage was a delight to stay in and represents the true outback lifestyle. An oasis in the desert and great place to use for a base to visit Uluru, Kings Canyon and Alice Springs. It's quite a drive (over 200km) to each of these places but the drive is fantastic anyway! The bedrooms - two queen rooms and one twin bed room were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We were there in the middle of a heat wave but the aircon (evaporative) and fans were adequate. Some would say the aircon was noisy but that's to be expected with this sort of cooling. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to stay somewhere a little different. Uluru accommodation is twice the price and quite tacky so if you have a vehicle Erldunda is ideal.

We stayed at Erldunda B & B for 1 night on our way from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs as it is roughly half way and we didn't want to drive the full distance (460km) in a day. There is not a lot to see on this working cattle station but it is convenient to break the journey which gives you time to look at things between the Alice & the Rock. ie Camel farm, Finke River, Henbury Meteorite site, Rainbow Valley, Curtain Springs etc.
The hosts were very friendly & provided a very nice full breakfast that you have in the main homestead. The B & B accommodation is a separate fully self contained cottage that is large & well appointed. It is a nice way to meet people who live & work in remote areas. They will provide dinner in the homestead if advance notice is given prior to your arrival day or you can go the the Erldunda Resort/Hotel/Roadhouse (3 km away) that serves a reasonable meal as well.
