“Excellent Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Recently we were in Terre-de-Haut for a short stay and one evening we went to Ti Kaz La for a meal. This place had been recommended to us by a French guy who lives in Les Saintes who we met on the ferry from Trois Rivieres. Initially, the communication was a bit difficult as the two lovely ladies who were the servers there had only a few words of English between them and we (a party of three) had even less words of French between the three of us. However, the language issue was soon put to rest by the owner/chef who came in and who spoke excellent English. He explained the menu and even suggested an excellent entree for my wife who could not make up her mind.

Although we are by no means experts of French food, I would say that this was the best we had tasted anywhere. My stake was delicious and our son chose octopus, which was soft and tasty, not the usual rubbery stuff that you get in North American sea food restaurants.

The place has very nice ambiance being right on the beach with the gentle waves lapping against the sides of the restaurant with the harbor of Terre-de-haut spread across you like a picture postcard. It is a small place, may be 10-15 tables so I would guess that in the high season the place must have a long waiting list. In July when we were there, we just could walk-in. One small suggestion for this excellent place is to have a menu in English also available or at least have a short explanation in English on the French menu.

We were personally greeted by the owner and chef. The service, ambiance and food were excellent. This was truly good french cooking. The best meal I have had in the french islands of the caribbean.

“Great cuisine creole with modern touch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2010

my favourite restaurant during my stay in les Saintes and Guadeloupe...extremely delicious food, great value for money (the lunch menu: 20 EUR for a starter+main dish+dessert) and fresh ingredients. The French chef will pass by shy at the end to ask you how you found it!!!
i loved the "cassolette de chatrou": a pieces of fresh octopus cooked in tomato sauce with fresh herbs.....yumyum!!!
