“Hidden gem in Netwonmore”

Ard-na-coille is a beautifully grand old house hidden behind thick trees and a winding driveway, in a small village called Newtonmore - a perfect location for exploring the Scottish Highlands.
Hosts Jacquie and Mike could not be more welcoming. Greeted with the most delicious, freshly baked Victoria Sponge cake, you are made to feel at home from the minute you enter. The rooms are perfectly equipped and match the grandeur of the rest of the house.
The full sized snooker table in the living area was a great accompaniment to a pre-dinner drink.
Breakfast was scrumptious, with a large choice of hot and cold plates. The eggs benedict and florentine, go highly recommended, as well as the freshly baked banana loaf!
This is definitely one to visit!

My partner and I have just returned from a 10 day holiday and we stayed at Ard-na-coille for two nights - we wished we could have stayed longer. Jacquie made us feel very welcome in her lovely home. The house is beautifully decorated with elegant furniture and thick, cream carpets. Breakfast was delicous, with freshly cooked croissants, banana bread, a delicous array of fresh fruit and a full Scottish! Kept us going all day. We hope to return again very soon.

Ard- na- Coille is one of the best guest houses we have stayed in. We have just returned from a 2 nights stay to celebrate my husband's birthday. Fantastic room with four poster bed and stunning views. Attention to detail is second to none and nothing is too much trouble for Jackie, she even booked our evening meal in the local restaurant. Breakfast was outstanding and everything said before about eggs benedict is true! Delicious!! This guest house deserves every accolade it has already been given ,and more. Will certainly be back for some more wonderful hospitality.

Mike and Jacquie run a property, which is spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished and offers excellent value accommodation. They are warm, welcoming hosts who will do everything they can to make your stay a relaxing and comfortable one.

We booked an overnight stay at the Ard na Coille and were warmly welcomed by Jacquie & Mike in to their lovely guest house. We were shown to a beautiful spacious room, with beautiful views (the superking) and Jacquie provided us with a delicious home baked cake to enjoy on our arrival. Our overnight stay was terrific in every respect and we were only sorry our stay was so short. The house was a delight to be in, to enjoy a peaceful relaxing stay. Breakfast was excellent which included fresh baked banana bread & croissants and a great choice of breakfast options, to send us on our way. Jacqui & Mike are a lovely couple and were excellent hosts during our stay and there was nothing we could fault in what we were looking for. It was a pleasure to meet them we'll definitely be back to enjoy this treasure in the highlands . J & P

Just back from a weekend away at Ard-na-Coille for my 1st wedding anniversary. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel at home and given the impression nothing would have been too much trouble. The owners Mike and Jacquie where lovely and friendly and provided an excellant service at all times. The house is the most beautiful I've every stayed in and the rooms were just amazing. I booked for the superking room( Rm2) for the 1st night and it was everything I hoped for( and more). The room has loads of space and a big lovely bathroom with both bath and seperate double shower. The view from the windows are just fantastic. The 2nd night we moved to a standard double as the superking was already booked for 1st May by someone else. This room ( Rm5) was just as lovely and the biggest standard double room I've seen. This room also has a spacious bathroom only difference is there is no bath. The view from this room is just as nice. Moving rooms was no hassle, we simply left our stuff went out for the day and when we came back all our stuff had been moved for us. The food was out of this world and Jacquie is a fantastic cook. Based on other reviews of her Eggs Benidict I had to try it and.... I was not disappointed. It was delicious. I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you decide to stay.

This was our second stay with M & J; this time we brought my wife's sister and her husband from Sydney. Only a one night stay as e had to get to Edinburgh but it was absolutely first-rate. The rooms are superb, the bed being so comfortable, and the views gladden the heart. The hospitality is exemplary and many hotel chains should send their staff here to learn what customer service is all about. J cooks a mean breakfast too, and I cannot argue with other comments made about the eggs benedict. They put the plate of indifferent eggs benny I had at the Apex International a couple of days later to shame.

To sum up, then, this is the perfect base for the Cairngorms. Do yourself a favour and spend some time at Ard-na-Coille. You won't be disappointed.
