“Good overnight stop.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2011

Stayed here the 26th August with my twin sisters. It was quite a late booking for the time of year so no en-suite rooms left but we did manage to get two rooms which shared a bathroom which was ok.. The beds were really comfortable. It was very busy the night we stayed but we still had a good nights sleep as the noise level was not too bad from the bar area. The service in the restaurant was very quick and the food was very tasty. (we only had starters) as we had a meal earlier on in the day. The breakfast was great and plentiful. I would have liked to spent more time in Newtonmore and surrounding area but we had to move on, maybe one day we will get back there.

We spent two nights here in early July and had a really good experience. The staff was friendly and very helpful; the food in the hotel restaurant reasonably priced and tasty, with a nice choice of drinks.

My husband and I have just spent two nights at the Glen Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. We paid £70 per room per night for B&B which isn't bad.
We had room 4 which faces the back of the hotel so has no view to speak of but it was a large en-suite room which appeared to have been recently updated. It was clean and tidy with good quality bed linen and pillows, a flat screen tv, tea and coffee making facilities, a small table and 2 chairs. In the bathroom there was a power shower, heated towel rail and little extras like shower gel.
Breakfast in the morning was a choice of various boxed cereals, juice, tea or coffee, toast together with a typical Scottish Breakfast (bacon, sausage, eggs, black pudding etc).
Plus: Our room had a huge comfortable kingsize bed with lovely linen. Best nights sleep I have EVER had in a hotel.
Minus: The coffee served at breakfast was ok but not great.

All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Glen and we certainly will be back!

Fabulous hotel and the service second to none. Nothing is too much trouble! The hotel is situated in the Cairngorm National Park so fantastic scenery - perfect for everyone to enjoy.

A fabulous experience all round and will definitely be returning - would highly recommend to all.

I am a regular visitor to the highlands on various business trips and always look forward to my stay at the Glen Hotel, I find both Chris and his family very welcoming and always willing to help, Defiantly one my favorite places to stay and one will almost immediately feel the family touch and staff with a friendly smile.
Food is second to none in this area, with a wide spread to choose from with their specials board and of course always great to finish with the desert menu.
If you a fortunate enough to be staying for a few days it is worth taking i some of the nature walks in the area, Chris will be always willing to help and but you in the right direction and has even printed of map of the area for me on occasions,

Thanks Chris and Kim for making my regular visits in Newtonmore so enjoyable and will be looking forward to stopping again.

Mark
