“Forget the games ~ Betty's Pantry is No1 Reason to return.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

Having decided to try out The Highland Games we headed to Newtonmore for a weekend break. After a scenic journey we decided refreshments were required before we hit the Games. We found a delightful Cafe and luckly managed to grab a table in the bustling establishment. After an amazing portion of homemade Mac n Cheese (delicious) it was descision time!!!!! Which one of the wonderful homemade cakes should we try? Carrot cake for me and Choc for my friend all washed down with proper coffee. Then off to an enjoyable day at the Highland Games. Thanks to the great reception and service we recieved from Betty & James (the owners) it was decided that next morning the order of the day was a must have Breakfast at The Pantry, which I highly recommend. Thanks to Betty and all the staff for being part of a wonderful weekend. We will certainly not be strangers.

“best by a country mile”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

had the pleasure to pop in here at the weekend, was only popping in for a quick cuppa. although the place was very busy(always an indication of good food being served). we were served immediately, we chose the panini's, macaroni cheese, tea, coffee and a juice. service was prompt and staff were extremely friendly and happy to help with our queries regarding the village. food was well presented, plentiful and absolutely delicious. after such a great snack we decided to try out some of the many home baked delights from the menu.. raspberry cheesecake was out of this world and the chocolate cake was simply scrumptious. as this was only a short stop for refreshments we then purchased some home made tablet for the journey and some home made lemon curd for when we got home.
all in all this place is a hidden gem, will definitely be back..

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Arrived after a day drive back from Ardnamurchan. Our youngest was in need of her bacon roll and they got the pan out and made her one also more chips than she could eat, I think she had them for breakfast the next day!!
Breaded Haddock and chips were great if I had a crictisim it was that I was too full to eat any of the cakes. We'll be back to try out the home bakes soon

“Home Made Haven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

There are Home made Soups, Breads, Biscuits, Jams, Cakes and Snacks not to forget the breakfasts, lunches, freshly ground coffees to die for.
As a Bonus i got to have a banter with Betty,James and the staff
I wentout the door with a smile on my face. i got married that day in Newtonmore, where else to settle the nerves and have a good hearty breakfast for the day ahead, which turned out to be (yes) "the nicest day of my life.
