“Another great stay here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This is the second time I've stopped here on a canoeing trip. Always accommodating and good food. Bit pricey on the peroni but serves you right for not drinking the local brews. I'd always recommend this to anyone needing a rest for the night

A true English pub. Spent two nights here in the middle of June. A great welcome from owner on arrival, (pleased he took our case up to the room). As a previous reviewer mentioned the stairs are steep, but the rooms at the top were well worth the climb. Very clean, comfy bed, lots of hot water, loved the idea that we had fresh milk for our teas & coffee rather than the usual plastic stuff. Loved the eclectic mix of furniture around the Inn. Didn`t get chance to sit in the sofa`s around the fires, saving that for next visit. The food was excellent and good value for money. The staff really friendly and helpful. Can`t wait until we can go again.

Room Tip: Call ahead and speak to the owner. He is really helpful.

I went here for a lunch with family. I was impressed with how the staff dealt with the large number of orders and the food was served very quickly. There were no complaints about the meals and the food was of a good standard. The bar area though is looking a bit tired and dated and could do with a refresh.

We stayed for a night with our 17 month old in a room with a great view overlooking the river. The location is one of the best as it is right on the river, and we had lovely views with our evening meal and breakfast ( which were both tasty and more than enough). Some people have commented on the steepness of the stairs, etc. but that's really just the nature of a historic building. Our toddler can confirm that every nook and cranny of the room was spotless - including under the bed! The place was busy but friendly and we all got a decent nights sleep.
Highly recommended, especially for the price and location.

Room Tip: Make sure you let them know first if you have any mobility problems, this is an old building with so...

Went for dinner at Ye Old Ferrie Inn (Symonds Yat West) with our 2 young children. Were glad we booked in advance as it does get busy and a lot of tables were reserved. The Inn is in a great location right on the river and it has a bunkhouse and b&b rooms (didn't look at them) which seem popular with canoeists - you can hire canoes right outside.
Friendly service and very child-tolerant, relaxed atmosphere.
Menu had something for everyone, I would say main courses were fine rather than fantastic, but the sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Childrens menu could be a bit more imaginitive and for the price I would expect a scoop of ice cream or drink to be included.

The Inn is a great option for dinner in the area and a lovely place to spend an evening.

Stayed in the bunk house accommodation which is basic but great for a lads weekend away, great location and along with great food ciders and real ale it is a 5 Star weekend away. Ideal location for walkers and with canoe trips going from the car park could not be better placed

A group of 6 girls went to the Ye Old Ferrie Inn after a canoeing expedition and I have to say, the owner of this place really knows about hospitality which I have to say is becoming a very rare skill these days. The food was just fantastic, great atmosphere and overlooking the River it doesn't get better than this. It was the perfect way to finish off our girlie canoeing weekend. I live in Frampton on Severn and I would go to this place just to have lunch. It also has bunk rooms and accommodation so may even come back to stay with my family.
