“First family holiday - Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

My husband and I took our 19 month old here for his first family holiday abroad and I can honestly say it was such a successful, and much enjoyed, holiday!! There are so many positives with this hotel but what really stood out for me was the friendlyness of the staff. Over breakfast, lunch and dinner, they took so much notice of all the children and made such a fuss. It was lovely. Needless to say my son absolutely loved it and even learnt how to say 'Hola'!
The Thomson staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. I know some reviews have slated the shows but to be honest, I was very impressed with the selection having been to many other hotels. Not only did the Thomson team do a production but whilst we were there but there were also Irish dancers, African acrobatic preformers and a magician which the older kids loved. You cant really say thats a bad selection can you?!
The hotel room was slightly small but it isnt a negative to me as less room for my son to run riot in in my eyes! The cleaners worked very hard, the rooms were kept spotless and again they were all so friendly. Thought the beds were comfy too.
As for the food, we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. The chefs kept everything topped up, there were no queues. The meat was all slow cooked and very tender. My 19 month old hardly ate from the kids menu as that did looked slightly processed so we gave him more of what we ate and he demolished everything! Especially loved the little cakes and fruit selection.
The beer on tap kept the hubby happy and the house spirits were nice. So easy to get a drink, no queues, and this was even in school holiday time.
The pools were lovely. Yes it was busy but I expected that within the School holidays. The splash pool was great and the slides went down a treat with our son.
The resort was lovely. The walkway down the beach was beautiful and we especially liked the lit up walkway along the side of the beach in an evening. This was definitely a winner to get our son to sleep and it seemed that was the in thing with parents and prams!
Overall, we have had a fantastic first family holiday experience which has been helped by this lovely hotel. I would definitely recommend it, without a doubt and we will hopefully be coming back at some point.

Booked specifically for the kids, and Thompson (who have completely assimilated this hotel) certainly have that nailed. 3 ages of kids clubs, Germanic scheduling of events, early evening kids shows (high energy, despite the heat. Lead dance guy should get a medal), crèche, soft play area. For those with very small children, dozens of high chairs, although be prepared to be segregated. Must make it easier for the staff, but gets a bit grating listening to other people's wailing kids even though we've all been there at some point.

Air con is great in the lobby, but a bit lackluster in the rooms, however when power went out yesterday, you could feel the heat in the dining room perceptibly rising, so it must be doing something, just not a lot. Slightly disappointing as we book with air con as a requirement.

3 pools good, however, noticeably busier this week as schools have generally all broken up, feeling a lot more crowded. Too many large inflatables wielded by unsupervised children with little regard for others.

WARNING - bottom of slope to middle pool stays wet as obviously slightly sunken. Management and Thompson seem unconcerned that 10-20 people a day are slipping over, even just walking slowly.

Generally, local and rep staff friendly & courteous

Food is reasonably varied, certainly well prepared and presented, there's a mini buffet table for the kids and the all inclusive includes wine and beer all day, soft drinks, etc...

Rooms are adequate, as are the beds, not as well presented as your average Premier Inn in the UK, or as comfortable, but who spends that much time in the room anyway? They are however well cleaned by the tireless maids. The hotel is just a bit tired itself.

One last thing... Transfers. Quite long from airport, especially with small children who have already been confined for flight, via Son Bou which basically doubles the possible time it could take. Be aware that if you book any trips out this is also the case and this hotel appears to be generally the first pick up and last drop off.

Room Tip: Floor 1, furthest from pools, irritating pump like mechanism on a permanent cycle 24 hours a day, re...

Highly recommended for a family with young children.

The hotel is very clean with lovely staff.
Rooms are clean. All fitted with LCD wall mounted TV's with CBBC coverage so the kids are happy while you get ready for the pool!

The hotel also has a nice grass area with trees so providing good shaded areas for any rest bite from the sun.

Excellent kids clubs & staff + excellent entertainment.

Pools:
The splash pool is great for little ones & so is the small pool.

Grounds:
This hotel is fortunate to have a good sized grass area with tree coverage so providing rest-bite from the sun if required.

Play area:
All soft matting around the slides etc at the kids play area + a smaller play area for toddlers.

Beach:
Beautiful sandy beach with clear blue sea and shallow for a good way out. Also have lifeguards at this beach.

Kids clubs:
Excellent kids club staff. Excellent set-up.

Food:
Always a good variety of food available & a kids buffet area too.

Entertainment:
Brilliant entertainment.

The only disappointing item was that the restaurant had no anti-bacterial hand gel as found at most other hotels so you just hope that everyone washes their hands before going into the restaurant.

We booked this with Thomson as a package. Flights, transfer were all on time, transfer was only about 30 mins.

We travelled as a family 2 Adults, 3 Children and a baby. This meant we needed two rooms, connecting, which were ready for us on arrival. (this was requested via TOM).

Rooms were very clean, reasonable size and did the job for what we needed. Rooms cleaned every day, to a good standard.

Food was great, wide range, helpful staff and varied each day. Kids club was great, and drop in sessions allowed our kids of mixed age groups to stay together. Sizes of the pool were just right for what we needed and very clean. Kids loved the splash pool.

Beach nice (beware of jellyfish), quiet resort ideal for families.

All inclusive 11am-11pm and was good. Self service drinks including beer, which meant no queues like other all inclusive hotels we have been to.

Entertainment was family orientated, Thomson rep's worked hard and did a good job.

This holiday all worked all as planned, impressed with Thomson all round.

Negatives:

- 28 Euros for a safe key with only 10 refundable
- Snack bar could have been better
- Had to pay for cocktails (although only around 2 euros)

Room Tip: Our connecting rooms were 125 and 126. (did not face the sea)

Just got back today from a 7 night stay at this hotel. We have been to many all inclusive hotels over the past 5 years all 4 star (T) or above so when we booked this Thomson rated 4T I was expecting the same - WRONG!

Positives 1st
Very clean
Rooms cleaned every day and spotless
Food good quality and always something different on, breakfast especially good
Beach fantastic and a few steps away
Staff friendly
Kids clubs good and varied and playgrounds for kids good

Now for the negatives!!

Pool way too over crowded and no life guard on duty
Rooms are tiny, if you have children especially young ones then don't stay here, there's no room for anything
Limited food options and only one restaurant, surely a 4T would warrant other restaurants to chose from as many other hotels of this standard do
Reps and entertainment are less are cheesy to say the least and no where near the standard I would expect - shows at night were poor!
You have to pay for EVERYTHING!! Fridges, towels, wifi, pop corn machines and games machines everywhere so kiss always wanting you to spend money, cocktails are extra as are decent hot drinks and they have a bouncy castle most nights which is 3 euros and again the kids always wanna go on it!

Overall this is a good 3 star cheesy typical all inc hotel, if you go expecting this and are happy with it then you'll enjoy it, if your used to 4 star or above with activities aimed at all age groups then AVOID it!
Will defo go back to menorca the island was gorgeous but not this hotel. Glad we only stayed for 7 days!

Just got back.
Hotel looked very impressive on arrival on the provided bus. Reception welcome was very quick and abrupt but that's the Spanish.
I would recommend when booking this hotel you ask for floor 4 or 5, as a lot quiter than the lower floors. We are a family of 10, ages 8 to over 60. We were given three rooms which should only accommodate 2 people but we had three adults in one, one adult and two children in room 2 and two adults and two children the other. Bathroom clean and towels changed everyday. Beds are also made for you daily. Wardrobe space was limited and no room for long dresses. Donot expect tea making facilities, Hairdryer, fridge, beach towels without paying extra, but this did not bother us as we took our own and you can take drinks up to your room. There is a tv in every room should you wish to catch up with home.
Do expect noise, people with young crying children did not consider anyone around them, morning or night.
Food- Was excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks were lacking but ice cream and drinks fab.
Entertainment was a little Butlins but the rep team worked hard to keep everyone amused and busy. You could get away from it if not you thing.
Pool and surrounding area-Splash pool for under 10's. Pool great but children need supervising because of different depths.
In regards to the sunbeds and umbrella's-beds enough if you placed your towel by eight in the morning . Umbrella's are in short supply. The grass area was in my option the best to set up on as shade from the tree's and nearest to the beach which we went to everyday for a swim.
Overall we had a lovely time .

Room Tip: We were in room 418, 419 and 420.

This was our first "package" holiday and though we enjoyed it very much, I was very concerned by the level of illness in the hotel. We were extremely lucky and all remained well though I don't know of many families who have escaped scot free. Nothing is being done about this and on our return to the UK on Saturday, I wrote to Thomson to tell them it's not fair to keep sending families there when they are likely to get so sick. Many families can only afford one holiday per year and it's terrible that they are still sending plane loads out there. Spanish Public Health, get over there, anyone thinking of booking this hotel soon, DON'T. It's a nice enough hotel, nothing special and lovely staff but avoid it unless you want to spend your week with your head down a toilet. And Thomson, wake up and DEAL with this!

Room Tip: Room 511 is nice and quiet with a pretty view
