“Best kept secret?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Can Bernat des Grau, not to be confused with any other place with a similar name, is a family run restaurant which specialises in fresh fish. However, they also have various local dishes of meat and veg on the hand written menu. This changes daily depending of what is available at the market.

The spanish love this place and it can be difficult to get a table at peak times. We have enjoyed many lovely meals here either in the depths of winter, inside with the heating on! or outside on the shady terrance on a warm summer night.

We find the prices very fair for the quality of the food.

“Great food and lots of character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

The atmosphere was something more than a family run cafe than a high end restaurant, but the food was very good indeed, and we enjoyed the lack of pretension.
We shared a lobster, which was expensive, but memorable.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Delicious fish and seafood with the best value for the money. You should book some days before because it's always full because is very famous for the local people because of his excel.lent quality and price.

“Authentic Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Restaurants don't get much better than this for food, service and ambience. Understated farmhouse restaurant with terrace and indoor seats where pre-booking is required.
We booked out dates in advance along with our lobster (sea food is their speciality). On both occasions the food was outstanding and the intimate service (no printed menus) ensure you get exactly what you want and like with recommendations on portions being accurate. Fried lobster was divine and deserts are provided by Sintes in Alaior and it's all round great value.
In a league of its own Can Bernat should be on everyone's 'must go to' list as its the most authentic and unpretentious restaurant of it's kind.

“Best restaurant in Menorca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

I have been going to Can Bernat for twenty years since its humble beginnings.
Dani and his family have created a superb restaurant, which still has the charm, character and most all fine food and wine as it always had.
No visit to the beautiful island of Menorca is complete without a meal at Can Bernat.
