“Great hotel with excellent staff - an oasis in Ibiza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2011

As more of a boutique hotel sort of traveler, I was reluctant to book what looked like a corporate/family-style hotel, but the Insotel Fenicia Prestige turned out to be a home away from home, with the friendliest, most helpful service, a serene environment, and an all-around great stay. I stayed here for a week with a friend, and visited several other hotels on the island (Ushuaia, some spots in Sant Antoni) where other friends were staying. The Fenicia was, far and away, the best of the lot - with spacious, well-appointed rooms, all with terraces, and I can't emphasize it enough: the most pleasant staff I've pretty much ever experienced at a hotel. From Reception to the poolside bar, we were welcomed and treated like family the whole time. Thanks to Jane, Michael, Nicolas, Ana, Mathias, Juan, and the list goes on.

Sure there were a few gripes: the gym wasn't so modern, there's a very odd metal...awning over the entryway that really needs to go (it looks like a giant piece of aluminium foil fell by accident onto the hotel's entrance...), parts of the wood floors had buckled and the french language channels didn't work, but overall we felt very lucky that we chose the Fenicia. We liked staying somewhat afield in quiet Santa Eularia, yet made our way around the entire island, and out dancing, several times. The pool is awesome, the area is super peaceful, breakfast is worth waking up for, and as I've already said, the staff can't be beat. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to friends and family, and hope to have the chance to stay here again. Thanks for a great stay!

If you're looking for a relaxing, high quality hotel in Ibiza where everything is effortless (as it should be on holiday), stay here.

This hotel is 5 star and certainly lives up to the billing. Santa Eulalia is a far cry from the madness of San Antonio or Playa Den Bossa but is only a 25 Euro taxi ride away if you fancy hitting any of the big night clubs that the island is famed for. The hotel is situated on the south side of the resort and is just a short walk from the beautiful restaurants of the resort which all located on the same the street which is pedestrianised which the best one being the gallery which is also one of the best restaurants in Ibiza. Anyway back to the hotel it's self. The buffet breakfast is possibly one of the best i have ever had with the biggest selection i have seen too. The selection varied from the usual cooked breakfast with omelettes made to order to a big area of cured meats like chorizo, parma ham etc. There was also a wide variety of pastries and and fresh fruit and there was even champagne and caviar on offer. The hotel staff at breakfast were very polite and spoke a number of languages. The pool area was very tranquil and relaxing with a large number of loungers available and 8 sun pods which were our favourites and we made sure we got these as the loungers weren't the most comfortable on your back. The pool was pretty quiet and a nice temperature to cool down in. We ate in the monsoon restaurant one evening and the food was really nice and the service was out of this world. With this being a 5 star hotel the food and drink was pricey but this was expected as all 5 star hotels are the same. The room was big and spacious with loads of hanging space (even enough for my fiancée, who certainly doesn't travel light) and the bathroom area was really big with separate bath and shower cubicle. The room was kept spotless by the maids and the towels and toiletries were replaced and topped up everyday. My only complaint was that instead of it being a double bed it was 2 single beds pushed together. Anybody who doesn't like this hotel is either too fussy or just hard to please. To prove how nice this hotel was a couple of premiership footballers were there at the same time as us. If you are looking for a quiet holiday to relax and unwind then this is the hotel for you but if this is not your scene and your more of a party animal then i would suggest you stay in one of the livelier resorts.

We had a week break in Ibiza, staying at Insotel. The hotel is about half an hour's drive from Ibiza town with no shuttle service provided by the hotel. The hotel is very nice and quite at night.
The setting is very nice and our room was very spacious with lots of room for hanging cloths and .... Great soft sheets. Lovely shower (with shower heads in several directions, giving you a nice massage). The staff are very pleasant and helpful. When we reported a problem with water flow in our shower room, they fixed it immediately and efficiently.
Breakfast is wonderful with plenty of choices and lots of fruit. Coffee is not very good (we avoided the watery instant tasting coffee). Contrary to previous reviews, we found the staff to be relaxed about breakfast time (serving well after the official finishing time) which was good for us as we were often late and typically stayed until 11.
The pool is amazing with salty water and great seating around. The nice cosy sofas are too few though and unless you are an early bird, there is no chance of getting one.
We had manicure and pedicure at the spa which was brilliant.
The gym is not that great as the equipment (especially the treadmill) is not of good quality and the air conditioning is poor so you get boiling hot after 5 minutes of exercising.
What we didn't like so much was the sulphuric smell from the river behind the hotel (where our balcony was). The good thing was that the air conditioning in the room was quite good and we didn't have to open the window.
The internet was quite expensive to our surprise (66 Euros for a week and 22 Euros for 24 hours!) and only worked on one device at a time (not so good for us with 5 internet connecting devices).
There is a big late check out charge of 78 Euros which we didn't take.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

The hotel, the grounds, and the rooms are beautiful. Location is very close to the beach and town (we found it on our own, staff NEVER mentioned it was a short walk away). The pool is amazing and the beach is a 5 minute walk. You will find an incredible amount of little restaurants and shops along the way.

The Fenicia claims to be 5 star, big suprise..... The staff was arrogant and cold upon arrival, they did absolutely nothing to make us feel welcomed. The management SERIOUSLY needs to train there staff as to what seasoned travelers expect when paying for 5 star accomodations.... Everytime we had a question we were traeted as if we were asking for a favor.... The hotel has no transportation arrangements (private or taxi) the most they will do for you is call a cab and get readty to wait.... And wait.... And wait. I've stayed at beautiful hotels worldwide (Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Fairmont, St. Regis) and I can honestly say that they spoil you and make you feel welcomed.

Get it together Finecia staff, you have a beautiful hotel, amazing beach and pool, and impecable housekeeping but that's not going to do much when you treat your guests as if they were your staff.

This is a typical large 5 star hotel that wows you with all the amenities and is in a lovely location with sea views. We stayed in the top floor room with private roof terrace and jacuzzi at cost of Euro 500 euro a night. I expected a little bit more for the money - I was even charged extra for the Internet!
It also always amazes me how 5 star hotels can get some very simply things not quite right! The room and privacy of the roof was excellent and cleaning impeccable but it lacked something and I can't quite put my finger on it. Food was excellent. Breakfast - simply the best you can get and the food in the restaurants varied, with the worse performing the poolside bar. Loved the bathing facilities and the salt water pools. Really great place for a short break, but with all the add-ons and more - if you want spa, Etc. It is simply over priced for what you get for your money, sorry!

My 2 siblings and I decided to stay for 9 days as my birthday trip. We are from Miami Beach, Florida, and all know perfect Spanish. When we first arrive, the staff starts making fun of us behind the counter and we loudly say in Spanish "excuse me?". They continued to be extremely rude the entire stay. It is extremely over priced. Water soda coffee and tea are all 6 Euros. Ham and cheese sandwiches are 17 euros. Internet access is 66 euros. Spa access is 30 euros per day. The have a free breakfast but it ends promptly at 10 am and they rudley kick everyone out by picking up their plates in the middle of eating. They are extremely strict about taking food from the breakfast. I tried walking out after they kicked us out at 10 am finishing a sandwich and a bottle of water and they took it from me. It really made my vacation hell. They also wouldnt call taxis for us so it was a 30 min walk on the highway every night to a cab station.
