“Enjoyable family holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

We arrived at the hotel early evening and was booked in very quickly indeed the room/apartment was fine for us (there was two adults and two children one aged 7 and one toddler) we had one separate bedroom and a small lounge area which had a sofa that converted to single bed. The bathroom was a good size and included a hairdryer bonus there was also a kitchen area in the lounge which had microwave and cooker rings and fridge,i only used the microwave for steralising babys bottles and it was fine for that was a small size one so only the steralising bags will fit so if you have a small one id recommend you take them. The pool area was lovely for adults and kids bit chilly when you first went in but it was only beginning of may if you like to swim in heated water there's an indoor pool downstairs which was gorgeous i think there was also a jacuzzi there. One thing i noticed about this hotel is the cleanliness they were always cleaning and everything was spotless. The nearby beach was fantastic too only about a 10 min walk just ask at reception and they give you a map once you've done it its easy to remember the way there's some lovely little shops around and also a little market area selling handmade bits worth a little visit Santa eulaila is a very chilled place and we loved it back to the hotel we were all inclusive and always found something to eat the staff were very friendly and were very welcoming we all loved it in this hotel and will definetly be coming back my daughter loved all the animation team and took part in loads of the activities that they held and she's normally quite shy but she seemed to feel really comfy around them so big thanks to them all. Overall our holiday was excellent and we will definetly be returning it had everything we wanted big thanks to all at the hotel for making an enjoyable stay

We stayed here for a week in June and had a lovely family holiday. Food was good with a great amount to choose from at lunch and dinner. I could quite happily of lived off the salad bar! Rooms were a bit small but adequate and the pool and surrounding areas were lovely and clean.
Entertainment at night wasn't great but my kids loved it and if they are happy then we are too.
Be warned....on our second day a glass lamp shade fell of the wall and smashed our ipad screen which was on charge on the bedside unit. The reception staff/manager insisted on us taking photographs, showing them a receipt and emailing all the details to them which we did and got an email back apologising. We were told that all the details would be passed to their insurance company and over a month on we are still waiting to here back. I have emailed the managed and haven't heard back. We will no doubt have to pay for this ourselves now! Feel very let down with how they have handled this.

Stayed 12 nights in June with partner and 2 year old.

I can't fault this hotel. We loved Santa Eulalia. We love Ibiza.

So many people we spoke to had returned for a number of years to the same hotel.

We stayed right above the stage and didn't have a problem with noise, although the entertainment was corny, my daughter loved the mini disco early on, before heading to Marina for cocktails.

Food always fresh and lots of choice.

Can't wait to return the white isle next year!!!

Room Tip: Ask for pool view.

We travelled as a family (2 adults, one 11 month old), in 1 a bedroom part sea/part pool view in June 2013.

Firstly the positives about this hotel:

1. Spotlessly clean - always seemed to be an abundance of cleaners throughtout the hotel. Rooms made up nicely most days.

2. Location - 10 minutes walk from Santa Eulalia's lovely marina. 15 mins walk from town centre where some great beaches are located.

3. Outdoor pool is a good size which caters for both adults and children.

4. Family orientated hotel so, other than one exception (see below), good for our requirements (11 month old girl)

5. Good size bedroom and bathroom was modern.

6. Apartment beds were comfortable, all kitchen applicances worked well and air conditioning was efficient.

7. No problems getting sunbeds despte what was being said in previous review and I believe the hotel was running at full capacity.

8. Cleaning lady was absolutley lovely who doted over our baby. A lovely, lovely woman.

Bad points.

1. Upon our arrivial we were placed into 1 room only to be moved the next day. This was really inconvenient as we'd done all our unpacking and set up out babies cots etc. We were also further inconvenienced as we were told we had to vacate our initial room whilst baby was having daytime sleep after long journey the day before. After standing our ground we held onto the room till the baby woked up. I'm sure fellow parents will sympathise that at times like this we expect the hotel to accomodate us after a day's travelling the day before, not arriving till 2 a.m that morning and it was they who made the initial room allocation error.

2. Smallest lounge in an apartment I've stayed in. We had a 1 bedroom part pool/part sea view and the lounge was tiny compared to what we've stayed in elsewhere.

3. Entertaintment. As our apartment over-looked the pool (I would say half the rooms at the hotel would have this issue), we had to endure the poor entertaintment at night whether we liked it or not due to the volume. For the first few nights our baby would wake up crying due to the noise which would go onto after 10:30 each night. BE WARNED PARENTS WITH BABIES!!

4. Food wasn't good. As way of compensation for having our rooms changed we were given 2 days free All Inclusive which I thought was great until I ate in the resturant. Food wasn't good I'm afraid and we didn't bother taking up the second day's meals as it was spoiling our holiday experience.

5. Reception staff weren't accomodating. By this I mean they are functional in seeing to your requirements assuming it's within theyir acceptable boundaries but if you ask for anything outside the box the plain answer everytime will be NO, e.g. checking out 30 mins late as baby is sleeping!!!

All in all a good holiday, some of which was down to hotel but the majority was down to the fantastic resort that Santa Eulalia and Ibiza is. I would rate this hotel 6.5/10. Somehwere between average and good. Based on the acid test as to whether I'd stay here again, the answer would be probably no as other hotels in the area certainly looked nicer.
I'll certainly re-visit SA.

Room Tip: Don't get a room which overlooks pool if you have little babies.

myself, fiance and our 2 kids (4 and 18 months) have just returned from a 2 week holiday at Tropic Garden and had a pleasant stay.

After seeing other locations of similar rated hotels in the area, it was placed quite well for getting to the shops and beach area with about a 15 min walk (with young children) to those areas etc... however the area around the hotel is based in the middle of a semi developed residential area. The hotel itself is really nice although having stayed in 4 star accommodation before within this region I would say the rooms are way too small and not of a 4 star standard. On trip advisor many people boasted of getting a room with a large sea view balcony (at the ends of the hotel) but I can assure you this must be by chance as we were told by staff that all of the superior rooms are pre-booked by German tour operators so if you get one of the rooms on the end of the hotel with amazing balconies it will be by chance and because they haven't been booked which is quite disappointing to think you could not get these rooms from initially booking. We were in room 1005 which was a ground floor pool view and turned out to be really handy with children as with all the inflatables we bough to occupy them we could just throw them over onto the balcony without having to carry them through with the pram and if one of us wanted to stay in the apartment we could still see everything going on. We also requested a cot for our room and found on on arrival this was around 4 euros per night.

We stayed on a breakfast only basis but every room seems to have a well stocked kitchen, with kettle, toaster, pans. cutlery and glasses. The breakfast has lots of options from fresh bread, cereals, fruits and full english type etc... also fruit juices and tea/coffee. A couple of nights we paid for the evening meal which was 18.50 euros per adult and well worth the money as the food seemed varied and nice and this included drinks (alcoholic and soft) from 7.30 to 9 as long as you stayed within the dining area. NOTE: there is a supermarket opposite and a Spar in town but if you take a right out of the hotel a take a little walk (5 mins) there is a large Eroski store (like Asda/Tesco) and you can get everything you need at a fraction of the cost.

On an evening the entertainment is LOUD and goes on until after 11, every night which we felt for a family hotel, focused for children was a bit too much. We were on the opposite side to the stage which was a blessing as I would have complained had we a room above it with young kids as they would not have slept through it. A couple of the nights when we paid for the evening meal we watched the shows that were on and they were okay although it was just the entertainment team miming to the songs. On our 2nd night there was a horrendous live singer on but he didnt seem to return after that night (maybe due to complaints of how LOUD and pretty rubbish that he was singing 70/80's tunes all night). One good thing for us that through the day channel 8 on the TV was Cbeebies which kept the children happy when we weren't outside and when it got to about 7pm this switched to BBC1 so we had an english channel to watch when we wanted to block out the entertainment noise on a night.

As for the staff they always seemed happy to help with any enquiry that we had although one of them did get a little shirty when we asked why our room had not been cleaned (not realising this did not happen on a wednesday or sunday) as were swiftly reminded and handed a leaflet that we were told we should have read when we checked in.

As mentioned in previous reviews, there are an entertainment team to keep kids occupied which is great although with the ages of my children I did not feel comfortable allowing my 4 year old out my sight and we have an 18 month anyway which the team did not cater for so having our son entertained wouldnt have gave us any time alone anyway, not that we wanted it as it was a family holiday. On the whole we found although the resort and hotel were nice there was nothing for young kids to do at all other than going in the pool or the beach. There were no nearby water parks or interesting things to visit for us to have an activity day without either driving or getting a boat to another resort. There is a water park in Playa Den Bossa and paid around 25 euros in a taxi for and then additional 44 euros for us all to get in but this really isnt anything to write home about but I would say it is worth paying the 2 euros on the bus from the station in town to get into Ibiza town as this was packed with many shops and seemed to have more going on.

All in all a pleasant holiday and would recommend this for couples who don't mind sitting round the pool all day and wandering into town now and again, not really wanting to do much but in my opinion not a great hotel for families unless you have children of an age where you dont mind them staying up until very late and a pool is enough to keep them occupied.

Room Tip: get a room opposite stage although you will not get a sea view on this side but the pool is nice at...

you can see why people go back over and over and over again everything was spot on. We arrived 6th June and ok entertainment on an evening is not top class but it is not in your face either you can sit chat enjoy the drinks and talk. the entertainment staff during the day work their backsides off with kids and adults alike my 12 year old was the only one over 8 so did not fit into any category but he was looked after brilliantly and they looked out for things he could do with the adults - first class all the way and anyone who thinks it wasn't were not trying to enjoy themselves why complain when you don't try getting involved. everyone worked very hard Angel was exceptional he looked after us so well when we were watching the shows deserves an award for going above and beyond as with sarah who made sure i did the keep fit hence only 1lb was put on. thanks again everyone we will be back

Room Tip: all the rooms are fantastic but if you have little ones who need afternoon naps upgrade to a big bal...

This was a fantastic family hotel in a lovely resort. We emailed the hotel and asked for a room overlooking the sea and were not dissappointed. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and were happy with the food. I would disagree with other reviews that state that all food comes straight from the fat fryer as there was an abundance of fresh meat, salad and fruit. It did get a litte repetitive over a two week stay but it was nice to walk up to the beautiful marina for a change of scenery. The hotel had good facilities and the staff worked hard to keep the children entertained but some of the entertainment was poor. The resort of Santa Eulalia is beautiful and it is nice to walk through the marina and the town of an evening.
