We went to the Hotel Orquidea for a cheap week away in the sunshine and were not dissappointed.
The hotel is situated right on the beach front which is perfect for us as we tend to go to the beach everyday rather than sit round the pool. We also like a sea view so paid the extra 21 euros for a room with a sea view for the 7 nights.
The hotel is great for families with kids disco etc but we stay well away from all this and used the hotel just as a base. We never ate at the hotel or used the bar really so can't comment on whether they were good or bad. The hotel was clean and rooms were ok, it was 2 single beds at other sides of the room which wasn't great, but apart from that it was ok - you can always rearrange the furniture. You could hear the entertainment at night but I really don't mind listening to the cheesy music its quite funny while you're getting ready to go out. When we came in at night it had all finished so it didn't disturb my sleep.
In the day we were always at the beach as we tend to get up a bit later and there was no chance of getting a sunbed as the pool area was quite busy with all the families.
There are loads of restaurants to choose from in Santa Eulalia so we always went somewhere different each night. Really liked the street with all the restaurants on and also the Marina. Usually had breakfast in Mels bar on the beachfront each morning before going to the beach, then had a jug of Sangria at another of the beachfront bars before going back to the hotel to get ready for the night.
Had a nice realxing week, would be bored if I was there for 2 weeks but may have hired a car and visited more of the island.
To sum up the hotel - its nice enough, staff were pleasant, great location, entertainment for families, pool was nice but bit too noisy for me (too many kids!). Oh and check in was really slow - there were loads of us and it was about 3am just glad I wasn't at the back of the queue!
