just got back from 2 weeks at orquidea and booking to go back same time next year.apartments really clean maids in 6 times a week.sea view amazing.pool really clean.loads for kids to do (and big kids too).watersports, fishing and snorkling.hotel bar okay but we went out most nights to mirage at the marina which had good live acts on most nights.only 10 euros in a taxi to es cana if you fancy a change.mels great for brekkie.loads of good restaurants.staff really nice and helpful.sunbeds locked up till 9 so no towels on at 3 in the morning but if you don t get one can just go to beach which is 1 minute away and really nice.we went in a group with kids age 8,9,12,15,16,17 and they all enjoyed it.a really good cheap supermarket 5 mins away.defo a must for families wanting a chilled out holiday.

We went to the Hotel Orquidea for a cheap week away in the sunshine and were not dissappointed.

The hotel is situated right on the beach front which is perfect for us as we tend to go to the beach everyday rather than sit round the pool. We also like a sea view so paid the extra 21 euros for a room with a sea view for the 7 nights.

The hotel is great for families with kids disco etc but we stay well away from all this and used the hotel just as a base. We never ate at the hotel or used the bar really so can't comment on whether they were good or bad. The hotel was clean and rooms were ok, it was 2 single beds at other sides of the room which wasn't great, but apart from that it was ok - you can always rearrange the furniture. You could hear the entertainment at night but I really don't mind listening to the cheesy music its quite funny while you're getting ready to go out. When we came in at night it had all finished so it didn't disturb my sleep.

In the day we were always at the beach as we tend to get up a bit later and there was no chance of getting a sunbed as the pool area was quite busy with all the families.

There are loads of restaurants to choose from in Santa Eulalia so we always went somewhere different each night. Really liked the street with all the restaurants on and also the Marina. Usually had breakfast in Mels bar on the beachfront each morning before going to the beach, then had a jug of Sangria at another of the beachfront bars before going back to the hotel to get ready for the night.

Had a nice realxing week, would be bored if I was there for 2 weeks but may have hired a car and visited more of the island.

To sum up the hotel - its nice enough, staff were pleasant, great location, entertainment for families, pool was nice but bit too noisy for me (too many kids!). Oh and check in was really slow - there were loads of us and it was about 3am just glad I wasn't at the back of the queue!

Have just returned from the hotel Orquidea in Santa Eulalia. The location of the hotel is excellent. Just opposite lovely beach and nice stroll to Marina. Santa Eualia itself is fantastic and we will definately be returning in the near future but not to this hotel.
On arrival we were asked if we wanted to upgrade our room to one with sea view. Although the view was fantastic (we stayed in room 309) the balcony was tiny and not really much room to sit out on. The room was clean but very basic. The facilities for cooking were a microwave and hob but no room to prepare anything. This wasn't too bad for us as we ate out every day but for people who are thinking of doing any cooking it was basic to say the least.
You had the usual situation by the pool of people getting up early to save as many sunbeds as they could and then not using them until later on. The hotel mainly caters for Germans who all seem to be on all inclusive. The drinks if not on all inclusive are expensive 6 euro's 50 for a gin and tonic which was unbranded and tasted watered down.
We never ate here so can't comment on the food. However we would definately recommend Daffers on restaurant street. The service is good, people friendly and food excellent for the price.
As I've said we will definately be returning to Santa Eulalia but will not return to the Orquidea.

  • Liked — Position right on beach and nice walk to marina
  • Disliked — Small rooms, very basic, expensive watered down drinks, poor entertainment

i have just returned from my holiday with my familly. i have to say i was very dissapointed as i found lots of things had changed.

1. we were charged 42.00 euro for pool view after we had allready booked the room with the travel agent.

2. we found that the hotel have now accomodated more for the germans than the english.

3. entertainment has been changed for the worst.

4. the hotel have sacked the best thing they had going for them and that is kevin.......yes people you heard me right they have sacked kevin.....

so if anyone is going back for the entertainment you are all going to be very dissapointed.
apart from all that the weather was fantastic.
we will return but we will not be staying in this hotel again...
