“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

We stayed as a family of 7 adults and two children aged 1 and 4. Had read mostly positive comments before travelling so was very much looking forward to it and it did not disappoint.
Rooms were more than adequate, we had a family corner room which had high walls and no view but was excellent for letting the kids play out inbetween getting ready and going out again. Allan on the night shift came to rescue a cat at 4am that had got stuch in our yard, lovely man thanks again. The children loved the pool and the childrens entertainer Mannon was always happy and did a great disco. The location was perfect, the best we've ever had, literally 3 steps and you are at the beach. The resort is beautiful, lined with Spanish cafe's, restaurants good for sitting in and watching the world go by after a leisurely walk along the very clean promenade. The real treat was the hotel restaurant and the food. Always loads of choice and always hot and tastey. We did hear a few moans from your usual small minded Brit that the bacon didn't taste the same as back home etc (well stay at home and let us enjoy the Spanish way of life for a couple of weeks). Big thumbs up to Cosme the restaurant manager, always a pleasure to see, very helpfull and nothing was too much trouble. He organised champagne and glasses for a 70th birthday for us. All the staff were very friendly and worked extremely hard. (The only negative which I had read previously was that the apartment floors were never cleaned properly. Maybe a note to the hotel if you read this review to sort this out). All in all it was one of the best holidays we'd had and we can't wait to go back.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location - you relly could not be closer to the beach without getting your feet wet. 20m from the swimming pool and you are on the beach.
Hotel itself is probably above average for an Ibizan holiday hotel. Nice reception with friendly staff, big swimming pool with loads of loungers (gets a bit noisy once the kids get going but you have to expect that I am afraid) and reasonable quality rooms.
We didn't go all inclusive so I can't comment on the food but from what I saw it seemed OK.

I went here with my partner in April 2012 on a surprise trip booked very suddenly through ulookubook. It was fantastic. These are lovely, although quite compact apartments. A seaview would have been amazing but we overlooked the front of the hotel which was fine. We had a small living room, lounge, and kitchen area with a seperate bathroom and seperate bedroom. The bathroom had a proper bath and shower and was nicely decorated. The kitchen had a sink, kettle, fridge, toaster, microwave and double hob. The living room/lounge had a table and chairs, comfy seats and a small balcony. The hotel was practically on the beach and walking distance to all facilities. There was a good supermarket literally over the road and round the corner. The maids came every day and we had clean towels 3 times during our week stay. we already knew santa Eulalia as we had sailed here, but I would go back to this aparthotel anytime. We walked about and used the local buses and boats. The buses run back from Ibiza until the early hours. There are plenty of shops and restaurants, a marina, an indoor market and hippy market in the centre of town on a couple of days of the week. In the summer there are also several fiesta's which are worth experiencing. if you want to really explore this beautiful island then car hire would probably be better but its really not essential. This is my favourite location and I love it.

Room Tip: If you have the opportunity get a room with a sea view

Stayed in a family bedroom in August just 1 night (thank god for that!) as we arrived one day early for our villa.
Our familly bedroom was tiny, hardly any space to move around once horrible sofa single beds were out.
Worst of all was the smell of cold tobacco in the room, not nice!
Food not good.
Beach horrible, no towels provided by the hotel.
The only positive bit was the nice helpful lady at the reception.
Cheap but not good.
Santa Eulalia is not representative of the beautiful Ibiza ... avoid if you want real genuine experience.

Room Tip: stay in ''Siesta'', much more pleasant little village next to horrible Santa Eulali...

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Orquidea. There were 5 of us including a 5 year old child. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis as we enjoy eating in different restaurants each night. The hotel is very clean, the maids come in every day except Tues and the towels were changed 3 times during the 7 days. We paid 35 euros on arrival to upgrade to a pool/sea view which was worth it for the amazing sunrise from your bedroom window each morning. The rooms are basic and could really do with some extra storage as there was nothing other than a small table & chairs and 2 sofa beds in our living room, no drawers, sideboard or anything like that. The bedroom had a wardrobe with 3 tiny drawers in it but that was all - ok I suppose for a week but you would struggle with a fortnight's worth of clothes! The balcony's are small, only enough room for 2 chairs and a tiny table despite the 1 bed apartments sleeping 4 people (not too sure where the other 2 are supposed to sit!).
The pool area was disappointing, it wasn't inviting and the pool is very small for such a big hotel - can't imagine what it must be like in high season!
What I found the most annoying thing about the hotel was the prices of the drinks, ice creams etc for the people who weren't all inclusive. A Fanta Orange was 3.50 euros and a Cornetto Ice Cream 3 euros. They seemed to really take advantage of the guests who were not on an All Inclusive basis in what they charged in the bar and by the pool. Breakfast was just about ok but that's all I can say, we decided to go out for breakfast on our last morning and went to the Nautilus English Cafe on the Promenade who did a delicious breakfast for 4.95 euros.
Overall the location of this hotel is second to none, it is very clean but the pool area, size of the rooms and bar prices let it down.

Room Tip: It's probably worth paying the extra money to upgrade to a sea view room for the sunrises - espe...

I have given this an average rating because on arrival its not very impressive from the outside.Too many steps down to reception but there is a long ramp for those that cannot do steps. It turns out there are three grades of rooms so be aware if you book. I managed to upgrade to a front seaview apartment at an extra cost of 70euros for the week. I do not think I would have stayed there otherwise. The servicing of the rooms was very poor and very stingy over the towels. The communal areas were well attended too. There was very little entertainment for grown ups in the evening, a magician for one night only. The restaurant was very good and the food was excellent and the manager and staff were very amicable and attentive. There are hidden extras like deposit for remote control for tv, key for safe.

Room Tip: Although I did pay extra for a sea view room (this room would accomodate 4 persons) A double room an...

We returned, but this time went all inclusive. This was our first time all inclusive, and I have to say that I was not disappointed over the 11 days and nights we stayed. There was plenty of variety, and the quantity and quality was never an issue. After realising that the cooked meat while you wait option would be cooked very rare, we made sure everything was cooked to our satisfaction, whenever we went for that. I am amazed at what was available at all 3 meals, and cannot understand how people have complained about the lack of variety.

I do agree that the pool bar staff are sometimes a bit abrupt, but I do sympathise with them about some of the customers. The available snacks and drinks throughout the day are more than sufficient, on top of what is available for the 3 main meals. The staff made it very clear that the all inclusive bar closed at 11pm, and again I cannot see why this should be a problem.

For the price in mid August, I think the Orquidea is a great 3 star option in Ibiza.

Room Tip: 169 and 170 are the best.
