We have just returned today from an 11 night stay at the Marina Panorama Hotel in Es Cana Ibiza on an all inclusive basis.
What a fantastic time we had.
This hotel is an adults only and offers both half board and all inclusive. All inclusive guests are issued with a wrist band.
The location of the hotel is hard to beat as it sits right in the centre of the town across from the sea/beach. The hotel offers sea view rooms/superior rooms however i witnessed several people complaining at reception about the noise coming from Charlies Bar next door. This bar closes at 3am and the noise is apparently horrendous on the front with people suffering from sleep disturbance. We had a pool view room and these are worth paying the supplement for. We had room 3001 which is the end room on the 3rd floor however it is directly above the outdoor entertainment. On the plus side it has a great view of the entertainment and the pool but on the negative side, if you are an early bedder, the noise from the entertainment lasts until midnight.
There was plenty of choice for all meals and drinks. The coffee is served both in the dining room and the bars from machines whereby you press a button and is not the best and very bitter tasted however i managed on the juice and tea. Hot chocolate is available for a supplement of 50c when on the all inclusive from the bars. This is well worth it as it is delicious.
Water is supplied in small bottles from the bar ( free on all inclusive ). We never had a problem with the amount of drinks asked for at the bar and sometimes got 4 at a time.
Rooms are spacious and are cleaned daily with fresh towels daily and our bedding was changed once throughout our stay. The room has a wardrobe which is between a single and double size. On the other side is 4 spacious shelves. We had a double bed and on either side was a bedside drawer for undies or nightwear. A kettle and cups are supplied in all rooms and tea/coffee sachets etc were replenished daily by the maid. The room also has a small fridge which was surprisingly very cold. Air con is the best i have ever had and can be controlled manually. We kept ours at 22 degrees which meant it went on and off itself and kept the room cool. Bear in mind, you are supplied with a key card for the door and this also controls the electricity however just place another card from your wallet/purse into the electricity slot and you will have air con when you are not in the room.
The reception staff deserve a mention and were very helpful and courteous.
The entertainment staff are Adam and Shannon. Adam was born to entertain and is an asset to this hotel. Shannon has come out of her shell slightly but is overshadowed by Adam and you cant help but feel sorry for her at times.
I cannot comment on the Thomson reps/staff as we had no reason to approach them as had no complaints or needed information.
The dining staff were a bit of a hit and miss. At times they were smiling and polite but at other times, they could not take your plate away quick enough and at times this was a little invasive.
Something to note - if you are all inclusive, the Cava is free at mealtimes but according to the menu on the dinner tables, you need to pay a supplement. The hotel must have changed this but have not advised the guests. I never asked for it at the bars, so unsure if you pay at them.
The bar staff were pleasant and polite. They ring a bell if you leave a tip.
The usual rush for sunbeds is evident at this hotel however we joined the rush when the doors opened at 7.30am. I have stayed in many hotels and this goes on at every one i have stayed in, so no different here.
We went on the water taxi twice. The first trip was to Santa Eulalia and took around 20 minutes. The second one was to Ibiza town and this took 1hr 15 mins.
The beach is across the road from the hotel and beds cost 5 euros each.
We ate in a little tapas bar on the beach one night and the food was excellent and competitively priced.
Overall our experience of staying at this hotel was extremely enjoyable and we will not hesitate to return.
