“Still the same brilliant hotel and island”

Invisa Hotel La Cala

We went to the La Cala in September 2006 and loved it. It was our first choice when we decided to go back to Ibiza and it was the right one. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the food plentiful and with a good choice and tasty - the salads in particular! And the breakfasts are great too, the toaster is an experience, might be slow but you can get talking whilst you are waiting! And you will meet other British as well as Spanish, French and German, in fact this hotel seems to cater for a fairly international set of clients. The pool area is well maintained but smaller than average, but the beach is so close by and that is clean and surrounded by the huge supply of lovely bars, restaurants and ice cream sellers so who needs the pool??
I would say that the hotel isNOT suitable for children, there are no entertainments for them or facilities, although there were families there when we were there and they seemed to get along with what was on offer. It is predominantly couples and groups over the age of 40 at this hotel.
The entertainment in the evening is not good. A piano player or a singer maybe twice a week. Could not understand those who spent every night in the hotel because Santa Eulalia is gorgeous!!! Get out and see the place, the bars are great, the staff in them are friendly and the food standards are mostly high. We loved the Bar Dona Ana by the harbour and the Atenea bar which is right on the promenade overlooking the beaches.
You need to know that the resort is actually a working town not just some tourist resort... you get to shop, eat and play with the locals. Go out on the weekend evenings and you share the promenade with them as they celebrate the weekend, The locals are friendly and it is an absolute pleasure to be in a place that is free from hooded kids standing on street corners.
Try one or two of the restaurants in the restaurant street (Calle San Vicente). We went to Daffers, great value for money and great food too.
What can I say about Ibiza itself?? Not just for clubbers or drunken kids - avoid San Antonio as it is awful at night other than going to watch the sunset which is as spectactular as claimed and everyone applauds as the sun goes down, very cool!
The rest of the island is gorgeous, great beaches, lovely towns, the capital is super cool and good for an exploration of the old town and the harbour. Buses are cheap and mostly run on time.
So what if they don't run on time, are you in a hurry? Judging by the wide wide vareity of ages coming to the island when we were there, the idea that this is for clubbers is wrong.
If you get from this that I love the island, the resort and the hotel you are right. I do and I can recommend it highly enough to say that if we ever win the lottery, there is a house somewhere in that town that we will be living in! Go and enjoy!!

This really is an excellent hotel. The food was good, staff friendly and the room spotless.
I don't think I can add to the already good comments on this hotel.

this hotel is all the positive reviews in one!!! we stayed for a week and totally loved it. every individual is made to feel special and welcome;the reception, bar and restaurant staff are all brill and friendly and nothing is a problem.

i have noticed that many people have already written about the location etc and yes it is an ideal location. there are a few English ran bars in the area if you feel homesick(The Tall Ships, Queen Victoria are a couple) and very close to the hotel door. There is a lovely little Spanish bar/restaurant up the main road near the taxi rank and i just loved it in there. the bus station is very local too and is just behind the Town Hall (opposite the taxi rank) and is really easy to use as the buses are spot on time, purchase your ticket before you get on apart from a Sunday I think where you pay on the bus. There is only a discobus to and from Ibiza (Eivissa) Town and can be a long journey going from San Antonio on a night as you have to go acorss to Ibiza Town and then on to Santa Eularia, the change over is prompt but is quite long. Don't bother attempting the walk to Es Canar if you're in any way clumsey on your feet or not that mobile, it's flipping hard work in the heat, we admitted defeat at Punta Arabi after walking for a few hours, personally i think it is a walk for those that do a lot of hiking or are regular walkers. the views are beautiful though. Get the bus, it's easier and quicker and blister free!

there is a row of restaurants near the town square and again a lovely English/Spanish one that did a mean Sunday Roast!!!! gorgeous.

I feel that this hotel is suitable for all ages, let's face it, you're there for the food, bed and friendly staff, you're not there on an all inclusive basis so you only really spend you're time here when it's feeding and sleeping time (or at least we did) food was delicious, rooms are standard size and perfectly fine. I'm going to say again though, the staff are helpful, friendly and quite funny when you get chatting to them, the bar man was brill (for those of you who watch Hotel Babylon he reminded me of the bar man on there)

you will certainly enjoy your time in this hotel and feel it was more than a 3 star.

really loved it here and I'm sure you will too!!!

We have just returned from a weeks stay at La Cala and my wife and myself were both impressed with this hotel. The hotel is spotless and we found the staff to be extremely helpful and they were always smiling. The hotel location is ideal for the resort as everything is near to hand. We found the food to be of a good standard as well with a varied selection every evening.Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels supplied daily.Drink prices at the bar were actually cheaper than the majority of places in the resort .Entertainment was practically non-existent in the hotel but we just went out anyway.Would recommend this hotel to all and the hotel deserves its number 1 rating on trip adisor.

“What a gem”

Stayed for a week in mid September 2007 and were really impressed with the hotel. Very central, extremely clean and excellent staff. If the meals at night had been of a higher standard I would give this hotel 4 star plus.
Booked with Jet 2 from Belfast and had no complaints with flight or hotel.
We would definitely return.
