We were at the parador in late November, at a time when lots of work was being done on the grounds and parts of the building. The site is very beautiful, but the beach was dirty and trashy - again, perhaps at this time of year there is little effort put into cleaning it up. The indoor pool is lovely, and I assume the outdoor one is also, during the season. The dining room is very nice, and the chef excellent .The wait staff is excellent, polite and helpful. We were there for three nights, two of our three days on half board, taking breakfast and dinner at the parador. On half board there is a limited menu to choose from, which changes weekly. If you are over 60, be sure to ask about the "golden years" discount at paradors. My only, but serious, complaint about this parador was the front desk. At one time I stood at the counter and waited almost five minutes while the desk clerk carried on a personal conversation. When I asked a different clerk if there was an Internet connection at the hotel, he didn't know, and had to ask another employee, who said there was not. Again, I had to ASK if there was a place locally (Mazagon or Matalascanas) where I could get on the Internet, and only then did he tell me where I could go. No one at the desk was prepared to explain to us our options for our three nights ( "golden days" discount or half board) or which was a better choice for us. (The response was "its up to you"). We visit Spain almost every year, planning our own trips. We do not always stay in Paradors, but have stayed in many. In some places we are very impressed with the staff - Bierzo and Cardona are exceptional.
