Just back from 2 weeks at this complex. It was my first time in Portugal and my third all inclusive holiday. The apartment we stayed in was execellent, full kitchen with a washing machine. We were so happy with this we thought we would enjoy the rest, how wrong i was to think that: We went to go and get dinner in the restaurant and the first thing that hit us was the SMELL by god it was horrible. The choice of food was non exesitent. You either like fish, turkey or pork, thats all there was apart from the usually salad type food and of course CHIPS. In the two week stay i only saw twice were they actually served whole potaotes. The breakfast they served was a disgrace, running scrambled eggs, rashers that were swimming in grease. There was no fruit for breakfast and the coffee machine was always broke during the serving times.They laid on snacks during the day, my children good not eat it as it was hard fish fingers, stale pizza and the food was stone cold.The poolside bar staff were rude and would often leave you standing there waiting to be served.This resulting in us eating out all the time, so the all inclusive deal at this comlex is not worth it. Word of advice DO NOT GO ON A ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE TO THIS COMPLEX GO SELF CATERING. The entertainment was very vague, mini disco at nine o'clock followed by bingo for an hour and the bar shuts at bang on Eleven.I loved Portugal and will return but not to this complex they seem to only cater for the portuguse people and not tourists.

on first impressions, we loved the apartment, newly renovated, comfy beds although the pillows were terrible. not a lot of storage space for 2 adults and 2 kids. full fitted kitchen with a washing machine but no where to dry clothes. poor tv stations. but we werent watching it so it wasnt a prob. very clean, we stayed 8 days and towels were changed daily. beds twice.
it is an all incl complex so beware the food, although it wasnt a large selection it was not warm but there is a microwave in the restaurant if you want to use it.
footpaths are slippy if they have been using the sprinklers which over shoot the grass.
we gradually warmed to the complex, so much so that we are buying an apartment there.
there is a lots of nationalalitys here although very few irish think we were only ones there. i always think a hotel cant be too bad if the nationals use it and there was several families of portugese staying and all were friendly(but loud at the pool)
hippo club is good they do various creative things with the kids and my 2 loved it. entertainment was good not too pushy and they always had time for a chat with adults and kids. was a few games of water polo or football on offer every day, 11pm and 12pm and then 3pm and 4pm anyone could join in the nightly entertainment however is very dated, there is a mini disco every nite at 9 but they could do with some variety in the music, they really need to get rid of the karoke it is way past sell by date. brazillian nite was brill! but with a lack of audience participation some nites were very quiet
all that said we would definately go back we found the staff excellent and very helpful.
a tip! take your towels to breakfast and put them out, there is a very low supply of mattresses for the beds so you need to be early
we went in to alvor for one night just to see what on offer fab restaurant called 'al dente' you need to go early for a table they are very popular and if you want a table on thur-sun you need to book.it is reasonable too.
we also found it cheaper to book this complex directly and book flights, transfers and ins ourselves. tour operators were a rip of
