We came here in June for 12 nights, a family of four, mum, dad (me) and our 3 year old twin boys. The apartment is very well presented and furnished, lots of familiar items and very much our cup of tea. It has all the mod cons, kettle, toaster, oven, hob, microwave and fridge freezer although a smidge on the small side for a family our size but nothing a few extra trips to the supermarket didn't solve.
There are two bedrooms, each with their own air con unit and another in the lounge which are very effective in the 30 degree heat we had! The master bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite with a bath/shower combi. The shower is quite powerful and heats up in no time, anytime of the day or night.
The second bedroom has two single beds and a pinkish theme but our boys didn't really notice. I think that these two beds were by far the comfiest! This room also had a sliding door onto the balcony. The property also has an additional toilet with shower which our boys seemed to commandeer. There were plenty of extra items left out, child's toilet seat, lots of loo roll and generally very well equipped.
The lounge is equipped to sit plenty of bodies, a TV with free view sky in both the master bedroom and lounge was a welcome bonus. There is also a DVD and PS2 but we never used them (too much else to do!). There is also a washing machine on the balcony and a dishwasher which were both a great help.
The apartment looks out onto a road which isn't busy, it looks onto a farm of sorts which you can hear a cockerel every now and then but not if all the doors and windows are shut. We suffered no noise problems at all other than a neighbours dogs that barked and whined all evening on one occasion.
There's plenty parking close to the entrance and the pool is about 5 minutes walk into a locked complex. The pool is split in two by a central round bar, there is a deeper pool and a shallow pool that accommodates plenty of kids. There are many sun beds but we just laid on the plentiful grass. The beds were always occupied by the same people and they were always in the bar so the rule about no reservations obviously goes unchallenged. That was a little annoying but we didn't get much time sunbathing (3 year old twins, remember!). There is also a small children's play area with slide and monkey bars and a small soccer setup with two miniature nets. The local Portuguese boys play some hard soccer on there so keep an eye on your little ones as balls were being volleyed aplenty.
All in all, a great apartment. Good amenities, good position as a walk into Alvor takes but 10 minutes. Portimao is 10 mins in the car the other way which is where the bigger supermarket is (Continente). A smaller Ali is on the way into Alvor but is a little pricey and they know it! Nice fresh bread though, irresistible.
I would highly recommend this property to stay in, it's perfect for a family of any size as there are extra beds and pop out sofas every where! It's on the second floor but with two quick lifts. If you have smaller kids, like ours, you may want to just perform a safety check on the knife draw as we had to tie a carrier bag on the two draws to stop little fingers. The fridge is on the small size, we managed to fill it with 12 bottles of beers, 6 cans, 2 milks, cheese, butter, jam and a bit of salad. The freezer had 5 ice creams and a bag of ice. Not the biggest so plan meals wisely if you eat in a bit. Sadly no barbecue in this so I couldn't carry on my tradition of 2nd night BBQ!
