“Best holiday we have ever had!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2010

We are a young couple aged 22-28 years old, who really enjoyed staying at Yellow Alvor for 5 nights! It is just an amazing, wonderful and fantastic hotel! We had the opportunity to enjoy the jacuzzi, the nice gardens, the nice indoor and outdoor pools every single day! Service and staff are really friendly and the hotel is really the cleanest hotel i have ever been! WE arrived in our hotel around 12pm and despite the fact that in the booking summary said that the check in time was after 3pm, the receptionist gave us the keys for our room straight away. We also requested a pool view, which was given to us. Alvor is also a lovely place to visit if you want to relax and not party that much. Also there is easy access with a cheap taxi ride (around 7-15 euros) to Portimao city where there is much more partying going on. Generally this holiday has been the best we have ever had with the amazing beaches of Praia de Alvor! Alvor is still a traditional Portugeese village and it is a dreamy place to visit to discover some of real Portugal. I would definately recommend it for a relaxing holiday!!!!

My partner and I stayed at this hotel with our 15 months old baby boy and had a fantastic time. The staff were great in entertaining our little boy, which can be difficult at meal times!! Great amenities. 2 pools, one for children and one adults. 2 bars, one in reception area and one pool bar. Gym, greek bath and steam and sauna (not that you need them with the Portuguese heat but still lovely to have the option. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from Alvor but there is a free bus from reception 4/5 times a day. Decor is definately worthy of 4 star, did I mention staff are great?! Room cleanliness very good, cleaned and changed everyday. Buffet breakfast and dinner extensive. Would defintely recommend.

Having just come back from the Yellow Alvor Hotel it was definatley what a relaxing quiet break, we relaxed by the pool each day with no more than 6-8 couples some times less. Alvor town is a quaint little town by the marina with come lovely resturants and small bars.
I think if you are between the ages of 45+ you would really enjoy it but as i am 26 it was a bit boring, the hotel food was abit basic but some of the meals were ok... not the worst i have eaten and the hotel itself was clean and tidy. The room are nice and its also nice that you have an indoor pool and jacuzzi. i reccomend you take a small kettle if you enjoy a cuppa otherwise you can buy one from the bar. The hotel grounds are lovely and peaceful the only one annoyance was the groundsman that strimmed and mowed the lawn all day every day grrrrrr!!! so the peacefulness was often disrupted constantly... after the 1st day we thought it would finish but he went over it all again the next day.

I went with my mom on a short break an we seemed to be the youngest in the hotel but it was pleasant so no complaints. The staff were friendly enough and i would say overall we had a nice pleasant stay.... i wont be going back in a hurry but probably will in 20-30 years

We came here looking for a quiet relaxing week and we got it. Being a little out of the main holiday season the holiday was quiet which was perfect.

The hotel was clean and well kept both inside and outside. It has both an outside and an indoor pool. The hotel is no more than a 15 minute walk from the very pleasant centre of Alvor. The hotel provide a free bus every couple of hours or they will order you a taxi (fare = €3.25) if you don't fancy the walk. My only criticism is that there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. That would be a welcome addition.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. All spoke perfect english which helps as our portuguese was shall we say somewhat less than perfect. A big thank you to both Jose and Helio who worked the bar. Both were entertaining and good fun to have around. They also made the very best Caipirinhas around. Thanks guys.

We look forward to coming back

A quiet hotel 20 minutes walk from Alvor, slightly longer on the cliff path, but worth it. Food was only ok, breakfast was definitely the better meal. A pity they spoilt the evening meal by insisting that football is played on the big screen in the restaurant. Outside pool is a good size in well kempt and huge gardens. The smaller inside pool could be a bit of a crush. Rooms were tidy and cleaned every day. Helpful staff. A good place to stay for more mature and families. Not a 4* though.

yellow hotel Alvor used to be iberotel and its at the back of Alvor on the way to the A22 for those not sure where it is . its re furbished now to a high standard one of the best i stayed in although the location was a little far out for us i imagine if you like walking its great....
We booked our transfer from faro with a company called "YELLOWFISHTRANSFERS.COM" so YELLOW was the theme of our holiday and made it easy to remember. The transfer company were good and made us really welcome when we arrived shaking our hands and introducing himself to us . we Got a freebie for booking with them ,,IMPORTANT - They were on time both ways.

Alvor is lovely and quaint with fab restaurants and a good but small selection of bars , Praia da Rocha is close if you want the livlier night life.
Beaches lovely and weather was hot!!!!!

The location is not the best if your not by car.
The rooms look ok and clean, but unless you have a pool view, there is nothing much to see on the window.
The swimming pool and surroundings are probably the best this hotel has to offer.
Alvor is a great place to go in the Algarve, visit the prainha beach, near the cliffs.
The hotel is ok, and I had a good stay, and it is a good value for the low price.
