What a lovely restaurant this is, you are welcomed by Jan the owner who is always friendly and extremely helpful. The restaurant is decorated in a cottage style however note the wall paper which is pages from books original idea and all done by Jan, the staff number 2 plus Jan but this seems to work as we never seemed to wait very long although we don't do fast food so a wait between courses does not bother us.
The food here is some of the best we had, the first time we went both my wife and I had the stuffed mushrooms and the Duck as we were recommended to try these, the duck was done to perfection not at all fatty which Duck can be, all of this with a free half bottle of house wine (which is very nice) no room for sweet after this but the sweets do look nice.
We decided to book again for our last night when I had the fish soup (lovely) and the Pork Fillet with Grapes this comes with a mixture of vegetables and potatoes, pork was really nice the only issue was the size I am sure there was enough to feed three people let alone me so sorry to say once again no sweet ( I will try these one day) to finish off the meal a glass of vintage port is provided, all this at a very reasonable cost.
All in all a lovely experience, however this is a small restaurant and you will need to book, I note there have been comments with regard to tables being available but not being offered I think this is because they only take bookings for the later part of the evening and do not take walk ups.
