“Lovely fish restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

We visited here on the second night of our holiday the restaurant looks out onto the bay with lovely sunset views. The T-bone steak was very tasty and my husband had cuttle fish. There was not much of this so he was a little disappointed. The children had some chicken and chips. The sangria is lovely and although the food is lovely they had offered the steak as a special at a reduced price and when the bill came they charged full price and did not apologise when we queried it. The covers are also a rip off since most places give you lots of olives and pate and bread enough for all four of us. There was one tiny tin of pate and hardly any bread. When we asked for more they brought one more tin and no more bread but charged us for two lots of covers. We did not go back.

“GREAT FISH RESTAURANT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

You will find this restaurant on the promenade leading to the harbour.

We (2 persons) dined here twice, and were not disappointed.

For our first meal we had a mixture Sea Bass/Stone Bass accompanied with boiled potatoes, vegetables, followed by lemon meringue pie, the Sea Bass was so tasty that we went for it on the second night.

Friendly staff, good service and we certainly got a laugh when our bill came; 1047 euros, the fish is charged depending on size of portion, and something went wrong with their calulations, the bill in fact was only 47 euros.

Would definitely go back to the A Ribeira, next time we are in Alvor.

“Friendly service and fish cooked to perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

We ate here at the recommendation of Alvor Boat Trips after catching a bag ful of fresh mackerel and they said that if we took them here they would gut the and BBQ them for us. So we went over and were greeted by the owner who said to give him half an hour and come back. It was only 5pm and we had the place to ourselves and the kids quickly made use of the free wifi as we sat smelling our fresh caught fish cooking on the BBQ. We were brought over some nice accompanying vegetables, potatoes and veg and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had no problem in handing over €30 for the privilege of not having to gut them ourselves. Will be back on Saturday as long as we are successful on our next fishing trip with Alvor Boat Trips.
