“Wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

We took a boat ride through the fjord and the scenery was unlike anything I have ever seen. This place is amazing. Although it is a long way from home, I definitely will be back someday. When we first arrived, it looked so surreal and it reminded me of the setting of the Lord of the Rings.

“beautiful sights”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

I had the pleasure of kayaking in the Geiranger fjord during my visit last June. It was a great experience to be so up close and personal with the fjord, a feeling you don't get if you just ride around in a large boat, or look down on the fjord from the mountain.

Geiranger is a very small town at the end of the fjord. There were some nice things to see there, but the kayaking was the best, in my opinion. Ironically, the guides were Americans working there for the summer, but they were very friendly and had great information about the lifestyles of the area as well as the sights in the fjord. We saw beautiful waterfalls and even the likeness of a face naturally carved into the mountainside. If you can physically handle the kayaking, it's a great way to experience this natural beauty.

“Stunning scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012 via mobile

Drove here for a day from skodje, the road down to Geiranger is an experience in itself! Beautiful views everywhere you look with viewing platforms dotted about. Massive cruise ships negotiating the fjord is an impressive sight too. Would thoroughly recommend a visit if you are anywhere near.

“Stunning natural beauty”

We were lucky enough to come here on a warm sunny day and it really is spectacular. You can book the boat trip when you get here (from memory I think they go every hour or so).

“Majestic!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

A place to put on your Bucket list :)

Recommendations:
Take the ferry from Hellefjord to Geiranger
May-June or September-October ( less tourists)
Visit Geiarnger Sjokolade: "Welcome to the worlds first chocolatefactory in a old boathouse. Where you used to store the boat is where we now produce delicious handmade chocolates. We use high quality couverture chocolate that we mix with the flavours of Norway, like the famous browncheese."
