Le Vigancce is perfectly situated in Betolle for amazing access to countless cities and tourist towns with a real authentic Italian feel whilst still providing a luxurious chilled environment to sample the local delights.
A must stay destination whilst visiting tuscany

I have been in a few places in tuscany and I can assure you that this one is on of the best on a price/quality scale. The apartments are very nice, service is good and they have a very nice park with pool whre you can chill when you are not going around tuscany. Both the highway and the superstrada are very close by so you can easily reach the main cities of the region as firenze, arezzo and siena and also if you fly into rome its not tha far. Also you are in the heart of val di chiana and very close by val d'orcia and its beautiful towns and country side. i definetly reccomend this location

It was an incredible place, where to enjoy of nice landscapes, villages, food and wine. The agroturism is perfect to enjoy with friends or family -as there where a couple of families there during my stay. In addition, it is located in a great position to visit beautiful and reknown villages close to it as : Firenze, Siena, Arezzo, Cortona or Perugia.
One of the best holidays I've ever enjoyed.

Beautiful and romantic tuscan retreat with great amenities, nice atmosphere and service. Close to the village of Bettolle were you can experience the traditional Tuscan life. Service is omnipresent, but always in reach in this family run estate. Giovanni, partly owner, offers to be your chef with great traditional tuscan dishes on the non written menu, everything from Pasta, to grilled meat to vegetables and sallads. The hospitality also includes locally produced wine. This house is a great base to discover the region and its cultural heritage, with golf courses, shopping malls and cultural sites in its vicinity.
Simply a great place to relax with a magnificent pool and great service.
You won't be dissapointed.

The time I spent in the rural house 'Le Vignacce' was just wonderful. The level of the place, the quality of the house, location, and hospitality were amazing.
It is very close to various major touristic cities in Italy and it is possible to enjoy both the quietness of Tuscany countryside or more active cutural life of nearby cities. During some times of the years it may be a very convenient and pleasant location to visit various italian cultural cities like Siena, Perugia, Arezzo.
I have been there various times, and I will definitely go back.

Le Vignacce is a self catering apartment in the small town of Bettolle, which on arrival seemed a bit more like a ghost town with a few shops and factories scattered about than the traditional tuscan experience we had been expecting.

However, we immediately felt at ease the minute we arrived at the property and were greeted by the owner Anna who gave us a warm welcome. We stayed in Il Granaio (Vignacce 6), and after our initial concerns we were delighted to discover an elegantly furnished and romantic little hideaway that we hadn't expected.

The apartment has one main bedroom with stunning views over the valley and mountains beyond, with rustic wood floors, ecclectic antiques, luxury bed linen and a little dressing room. In the main apartment we had two extra beds put up for us as we were staying with our two young children, and there was still plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen/dining area was spacious and well equipped and seemed to be recently fitted with new units. A downstairs lobby is a great place for leaving lilo's and beach bags when you are back from the pool. The only slight concern we had with the layout was that the stairs are open to the main apartment and could be risky for young children. We solved this by taking the two put up beds, and letting the kids have the double in the main bedroom and it didn't cause us too much trouble.

In the gardens Anna invited us to help ourselves to the apples, pears, figs etc growing from the trees and we even got used to snipping a bit of basil each evening to cook with our meal. There are great facilities here including plenty of tables and chairs to relax and take lunch at, and a BBQ area if you want to cook your own food. The hammocks, reclining chairs and loungers by the pool make it easy to relax, and the swings and ping pong table were a hit with the kids. There is lots of room to explore and play in the grounds.

One of the biggest drawbacks this property had for us was the motorway, which sadly sits right at the foot of the gently sloping gardens (about 1-2 acres in total). Whilst you couldn't really hear it that much (except when the wind was blowing in our direction) or see it from the pool or room, I was always a little fearful that the children might be able to get to it if we left them to roam around too much on their own. We gave ours a very strict safety talk on arrival and luckily they stayed well away so it wasn't too much of an issue.

On the positive side, the close proximity of the motorway made it really easy for us to access key tourist spots such as Cortona, Montepulciano, and the lovely Siena to name just a few and this really helped us to get the most from our stay.

Our perception of Bettolle as a village did improve during our stay. Make sure you have some basic understanding of Italian though as there isn't much English spoken here. The local shops were helpful and friendly, although we are pretty sure the local butcher charged us atleast double if not more than the price marked on the counter ticket... however, it was our fault for not knowing more Italian and we actually thought it was quite funny. At the same store, the owner recommended some good red wine and we promptly bought their whole stock which helped us enjoy our stay even more!

Overall a great apartment, pleasant owners, and wonderful facilites on site. We would consider staying again as the price was reasonable and you couldn't criticise the very high standards and good access to nearby tourist spots.

  • Liked — The tasteful decor and high standard of accommodation
  • Disliked — The motorway was too close
  • Tips/Secrets — Stay here if you want a reasonably priced trip to Tuscany and a good base for exploring the region by car
