This 40 year old hotel is the perfect place to tour southern Tuscany and is the most charming of any hotel around this area. True it is expensive, but we felt it was worth it. The grounds are very well kept, there is a pool which with3 tennagers we used a couple of times, the buildings and rooms are in very good shape. Breakfast was very good, and the view from the patio was breathtaking. Rooms were very clean, large (we had superior rooms), and well furnished. I have been told the entrance to the hotel, which is lined by numerous cyprus trees, is one of the most photographed. Not to mention the vineyards and herb gardens were a nice touch.

Biggest draw backs are the restaurant (althought the staff and wine selection were very good, the food is average and expensive - try Walter Redaelli in nearby Batelle for a classy meal) and that the wine bar was closed and they were not sure when they were going to reopen. otherwise, a very good choice for a true experience of Tuscany.

The location is simply amazing: a typical Toscany renaissance small village, incredibly charming and very well kept, where one has the nice feeling to be back in the time. The rooms are on the contrary quite basic and not in line with the hotel's category and especially with the price they charge (270 euro !). But the worst is the restaurant, where they presented to us a very bad prepared food, served in an hasty and unattentive way by a non professional staff.

Locanda dell'Amorosa is a place where time is like to be stopped. Once You arrive, You don't want to leave this place. People is great, the restaurant make delicious meals and the rooms have space enough to be really comfortable and filling at home. And the views are astonished. It's the place to go every time You can.

We drove from Florence to Locanda dell'Amorosa, and it was a great surprise as we got upgraded to a suite room OMG! I loved every minute here. The scenery of Tuscany and historical sites were fascinating! We also had dinner here and it was one of the best dining experiences in Italy. Even though the bill came up very high lol but we were happy anyways!

One small thing for this luxurious hotel that annoyed us was a WIFI! The signal wasn't strong at all. Almost no signal in the room and we had to move around looking for only 1 bar signal. Please improve it for other guests in the future. If I ever make it to Sinalunga again, this hotel would definitely be my first choice! Love it...love it...love it!

P.S. I wish we could stay longer :-) See my photos and please vote for me if you find this review helpful. Thank you very much.

Room Tip: a suite room is very beautiful...see my photos....room no.45

We stayed here with our family in April 2013. This place has a rustic charm that make you feel at home very quickly. The staff is very helpful but the restaurant staff is the BEST! Once they get to know you they will prep your table for breakfast each morning.

Likes; Bathrooms are great, breakfast is the best we had during our 16 day trip, they will make you personalized omelets if you ask. Views are breathtaking! Restaurant is very good and you can taste the freshness of the food.

Cons: Rooms are dated, not every room is the same and they have a poor indication of which room you are getting on their website. Some of the rooms are very dark and dingy looking, we looked at almost every room until settling on the deluxe room. If you are like us and want to use your iphone, ipad, etc. the wifi does not work anywhere except the lobby/courtyard. They do have a computer for you to use but the printer doesn't always work and the hotel staff is not knowledgable enough to assist. If you are driving your own car ask for them to print out directions as the GPS does not always know where to take you. I used the printed directions as backup.
Restaurant menu is small so you cant eat here every night but the food is very fresh and organic.

All in all it is a beautiful place to stay.

Room Tip: Walk thru the room before you choose one, each room has a different view and some have ALOT of steps...

Stayed here for a few days last week with some family. Beautiful property as it's a restored village. Very charming with nice views and scenic countryside. The staff is very nice and helpful. This property could be so much better but they miss on a few things. The restaurant has a really warm feel to it but the food is not that great and fairly expensive. After dinner the first night we decided to eat out for the last couple nights of our stay. Like many restaurants in Italy they do offer gluten free pasta but the meat sauce was very watery. I had a risotto which was lacking in taste. If you do eat at the restaurant definitely get a salad as their aged balsamic vinegar is delicious.

If you bring your computer or phone and want to use their free wi-fi bring a fleece or a sweater (depending the time of year you go) because it only works outside in the courtyard. I sat outside with a couple other guests one night to get a connection. It does not work in a lot of the rooms. Actually, it didn't even work in their lobby but they do have a computer in the lobby for guest use.

Again, scenic property with really nice views but they miss on a couple of marks.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The location exudes an atmosphere of true serenity and sweetness and anyone exposed to it will be awestruck. Each room has its own character and design. Rustic furniture of peasant origins is mixed with antique furniture, prints and paintings. Some, that open directly to the outdoors give the sense of having a place of one’s own; others have a relaxing view of the typical Sienese countryside; yet others look out onto the complex’s quadrangle and face the lodgings the peasants at one time inhabited. ... more   less
