Perfect location and wonderful staff made this 3 day stay magic for me. My dream was always to stay in the Tuscan countryside in a Villa and Villa Saulina did not disappoint, especially since I booked my room midnight the day before I arrived. Coming from Florence, I wanted a place where I could relax and just "hang" without doing much at all. This is a perfect place. The staff, headed by the GM Matteo was always courteous, helpful and ensured my comfort. The small balcony near the bar was a great place to sit with a cocktail and a plate of melon and proscuitto and just relax. Wanting to explore the countryside and the small villages close by, I hired a Vespa for a day and as you do in Italy...rode through the winding streets of the countryside, stopping at a small restaurant/cafe alond the roadside to enjoy a bowl of simple pasta and salad. Thank you to Matteo and his team for a wonderful stay! Ciao

We are from Rome and stayed at this hotel with friends from New Zealand.
The location is perfect, just few minutes away from Florence but set in the countryside surrounded by vinyards and hills. The independent house we rented was tastefully decorated and very clean. It had its own patio and was fully equipped with everything needed, eventually even for a barbecue, had we had the time. We spent a lovely afternoon at one of the two pools and even though we mostly cooked our own food (the apartments come with a fully equipped kitchen), we enjoyed the delicious and abundant breakfast served in the morning by the pool as well as the very good pizza cotta a legna at the hotel restaurant. The staff and service were very nice, helpful and friendly. We lost our daughter's teddy bear and when we called one week later hoping they had found it, they had kept it aside and were so kind as to send it to our house. We would definitely recommend the hotel as a base to stay for anyone planning a trip to Florence and the surrounding area, but also for a quiet and peaceful getaway weekend.

The hotel staff came to collect us from the train station when we arrived. On arrival at the Villa we were taken back with the beauty of the place. The staff were very welcoming and advised us everything we need to know about the area, villa and restaurant. It has two swimming pools with loungers. Our room was spotless and spacious. The restaurant on sight has an excellent range of Tuscan food as well as Pizzas. The staff will be happy to advise a good wine to accompany your food. Matteo always aimed to please and could not of been more helpful to us. We wish we would of stayed for longer and will definitely be returning. An ideal place to relax, get looked after, eat great food and drink good wine! Perfect!

The service at this hotel was excellent, however, the air conditioning in the main house in centralised and hardly works. As well, the main door is loud and heavy and shuddered our room, along with the noise from our neighbours bathroom. We did not sleep well. We understand they have other rooms in other buildings.
The pools were badly maintained, clumps of bugs and hair floating on the floors, at least a foot too low of water and some loose stones near the edge.
The breakfast was very poor, cheap bread, cheap ham (if that is in fact what it was), cheap cheese and awful coffee. The croissants were okay, but the room was not air conditioned and you were joined by the mosquitos.
The view was great and the location for taking the train to Florence was excellent, although beware parking at the station can be quite tricky.
The restaurant onsite had a good menu, dis-interested staff (unless you are italian / or local) but great views. Food was good.

Room Tip: Do not stay in main hotel and ensure to have own air conditioning. Take your own breakfast, do not p...

This wonderful hotel was booked for me through a Cookery Course which my friend and I arranged in Florence. Our plan was to stay for just 3 nights but on arrival we both agreed to extend this by a further 3 nights. Everything about this hotel excelled - it's location is the ideal place to chill out and enjoy the amazing views. ALL the staff were outstanding and extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Food amazing and service exceptional - nothing was too much trouble and all our requests were met with a smile. I will certainly return and will recommend to all my friends. Thank you Matteo for looking after us so well - it was a pleasure to meet you and your amazing staff.

Room Tip: I only saw the room which I shared so cannot compare or recommend. I would say that all rooms are q...

Hotel is quite a ways outside of Florence but easy to get to the train station. Room furnishings were disappointing. Bedspread looked like something from the 60's. Chairs were very uncomfortable in the room. Overall hotel was not up to the same 4-star quality as other places we stayed during our trip to Italy. Also, the water stopped working for several […] hours one night. We asked on check-in about wi-fi. Clerk told us it was available in the lobby area on their computer or our own. We asked the first morning for the code and was given a card with the code on it, good for 24 hours. We did this twice. On check-out, we were informed there was a 10 euro charge for the internet. This was NOT stated on check-in. Breakfast had fewer selections than other hotels during out stay but was adequate. Walls very thin so you hear everything next door, coughing, baby crying, TV.
